Pronotum: Little shiny. Punctuation nearly covered by silvery, stout, dense, recumbent pubescence. Horn on each side with seven teeth, becoming smaller posteri- orly. Crest consists of seven lengthy bumps, forming a nearly closed line. Row of stout, rounded bumps in middle ofhorn. Elytra: Rather shiny. Punctuation strong. Spaces be- tween punctures inuch smaller than punctures. These become smaller posteriorly, spaces larger. Pubescence silverish, stout, rather dense, recumbent. Legs: Pubescence very fine. Remarks: By the length ofthis species there is nothing in comparison with all other known species of this ge- nus. Derivatio nominis: I name this new species after the well known coleopterist Dr. Amaldo Bordoni in Flor- ence. The area is situated in monsoon climate. We report the results of the emergence of aquatic dance flies (Empididae: Hemerodromiinae, Trichopezinae and Clinocerinae). Forty-nine taxa were distinguished, and thirty-three were determined to species level; seventeen species were new to science. In Hemerodromiinae four new species ofthe genus Hemewdromia Meigen, 1822, and ten of Chelifera Macquart, 1823, were found over approx. 5 m- ofstream surface. One species oíHeleodromia Haliday, 1833, subfamily Trichopezinae, was new. In Clinocerinae, two species ofDolichocephalu Macquart. 1823, three ofRoederiodes Coquillett, 1901, seven ofClinocera Meigen, 1803 and one ofTrichoclinocera Collin, 1941, were new to science. Species and specimen num- ber of Clinocerinae, particularly Wiedemannia glaucescem (Brunetti 1917), were highest at high precipitation; Hemerodromiinaewere more abundantduringthedry periods. Species richness is remarkably high, compared with stud- ies on European or North American streams. Probably many endemics exist. Morphological similarity of several Cli- nocera species indicates intense speciation processes. Species richness may further depend on the position ofthe Hima- layas between the Palaearctic and the Oriental region, and the vicinity ofclimatic zones along the different elevations and slopes of the mountain chains.
