Known Problems What's New in this Release IMC APM 7.2 (E0401P07) can be upgraded from only IMC APM 7.2 (E0401), IMC APM 7.2 (E0401P01), IMC APM 7.2 (E0401L02), IMC APM 7.2 (E0401P04), and IMC APM 7.2 (E0401P05). To upgrade from versions prior to v 7.2, upgrade both the IMC APM and all the deployed service components through each released version. The upgrade path is v 5.1/5.2 >> 7.0 >> 7.1 >> 7.2. It is not possible to import the database taken from a previous version into v 7.2. The following lists all features released after IMC APM 7.0 (E0101). Application Group can be accessed by selecting Resource > Application Manager > Application Group. It provides the following functions: o Application group alarm feature. Problems Fixed in this Release IMC APM 7.1 (E0401P07) fixes the following problems, including all bugs fixed after IMC APM 7.0 (E0101). Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.2 (E0401P07) 1. None. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.2 (E0401P05) 1. The imcapmedm process might be down when the APM monitored an IPMI. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.2 (E0401P04) 1. Some indexes in the following areas of an H3C P5730 application monitor have incorrect value or have no value, if you add the H3C P5730 application monitor to iMC APM 7.2 (E0401L02). 2. The V2 scheduled reports for APM cannot be created when APM is deployed on iMC PLAT 7.2 (E0403L02) Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.2 (E0401L02) 1. In APM 7.2 (E0401P01), Application Group Name and Application Type were removed from APM V2 report templates due to issues of iMC PLAT 7.2 (E0403L01). 2. Apache Commons Collections Java library has security holes when deserializing data. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.2 (E0401P01) 1. The wireless management process fails to be started and an error message appears if you install or upgrade APM after installing WSM on iMC that runs Windows. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.2 (E0401) 1. The availability status of URL applications might be incorrect when URL application polling is affected in unstable networks. 2. The WebSphereMQ application failed to be added to APM when the CCSID of the WebSphereMQ application is not the default value. (The default is 819 for Unix and Linux, and 1381 for Windows.). 3. The dashboard does not display any APM information when the IMC platform is upgraded to IMC PLAT 7.1 (E0303P10). 4. When you view reports in APM, the message "Error finding JNDI name (127.0.0.1)" appears when the APM progress is started earlier than the platform report progress. 5. When APM is deployed in distributed mode, you cannot use DBMan to back up the apme_db databases for subordinate servers. 6. When the value of an index is more than 32 bytes and reaches the specified index threshold, the imcapmedm process might be down. 7. After upgraded to iMC APM 7.1 (E0303), APM cannot collect data for SNMP applications. 8. When the iMC server is deployed on a Linux host and uses an Oracle database, APM cannot collect Active Directory Service data. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.1 (E0303) 1. When you add a Lync application monitor, an application probe failure occurs. 2. The APM agent cannot obtain data of the monitored KVM application. 3. The APM agent cannot monitor the response time of the IIS application. 4. When the URL application keyword contains double-byte characters (for example, Chinese characters), the number of matching results for the keyword might be 0. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.1 (E0301) 1. On the page for adding or modifying the Informix application, the system considers the Database Name as the Database Service Name, and vice versa. 2. When the imcapmedm process cannot start because of insufficient Oracle/MySQL connections, add APM connection configuration. To do so, add DBCollectNum=11 in the \$iMCInstall$\server\conf\qvdm.conf file. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.0 (E0201H03) 1. The jServer process and APM background imcapmedm process might operate incorrectly when a large number of WebLogic applications are being monitored. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.0 (E0201P02) 1. Some Lync 2010 indexes are displayed as garbled characters on the APM threshold management page. 2. APM Agent does not support uninstall feature. 3. APM Agent fails to monitor a few indexes, such as event logging of Windows applications, error log, session of Linux applications, Directory applications, and so on. 4. APM Agent fails to automatically locate .net and Active Directory applications. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.0 (E0201H01) 1. APM fails to monitor the system running time index of AIX and Solaris. 2. The indexes of Hyper-V Virtual Network Adapter and Virtual Switch Port Information are incorrect. 3. The Agent cannot be removed through the uninstall command which is installed on a Linux operation system. 4. The baseline data cannot be generated when APM is installed on Oracle database. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.0 (E0201) 1. None. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.0 (E0101H02) 1. When APM monitors more than 10 WebLogic applications, WebLogic applications might fail to be accessed. 2. Windows application cannot be added to APM after you upgrade APM in the following order: version 5.1, version 5.2, version 7.0 (E0101), and version 7.0 (E0101P01). 3. When the HP Unix server has not reboot for a long time, APM might fail to collect the memory information for the monitored HP Unix application. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.0 (E0101P01) 1. The IMC main page may not be operated for a short time when you close the application topology window whose content is not displayed completely. 2. The probe is installed in the Linux RedHat 6.1 operating system, and the probe process is started. After the device mirrors traffic to the probe, the probe server restarts. 3. When both APM and WSMS are installed, errors might occur to the login page. 4. When APM is installed on Windows 2003, APM cannot collect the indexes of WebLogic. Resolved Problems in IMC APM 7.0 (E0101) 1. If the installation path has blank, the Jboss application will not be monitored. 2. When APM is installed, trying add Proprietary Attribute List fails in UAM. Before installing APM, make sure that the IMC platform is installed correctly and the IMC platform version is IMC PLAT 7.2 (E0403P04) or later patches. 2. To install APM, click Install button on the Monitor tab of the Intelligent Deployment Monitoring Agent, then select the components sub-directory of the upgrade package, and click OK button to launch the installation wizard. To upgrade APM: 1. Back up the IMC database on the Environment tab in Deployment Monitoring Agent. 2. Manually copy the IMC installation directory to a backup path. 3. Stop the IMC system in the Deployment Monitoring Agent. 4. Click Install button in the Monitor tab of the Deployment Monitoring Agent. 5. Select the windows/install/components subdirectory of the upgrade package, and click OK button. 6. After the installation finishes, the Deployment Monitoring Agent will detect the components that need to be upgraded. Click OK button to start upgrading the components. 7. If this is a Distributed deployment, upgrade all components deployed on all slave servers separately. 8. After update, start all processes on the Deployment Monitoring Agent window. [ Table of Contents ] Removing APM You can remove APM component through the intelligent deployment monitoring agent. To do this, follow these steps: 1. In the Intelligent Deployment Monitoring Agent window, select Stop IMC on the Monitor tab to stop all processes of IMC. 2. On the Deploy tab, right-click the APM component, and select Uninstall the Component from the shortcut menu. 3. A dialog box appears, indicating that the component was successfully removed. Click OK.
