Lothian 1929-1994 Cemetery Worker DEDICATION OF 1994 ANNUAL REPORT The 1994 Annual Town Report is gratefully dedicated to Police Chief Neil R. Parker Sr. On his retirementthis year, ChiefParkerwill have completed servicetothetown ofKingston that began in 1960. Bom in Haverhill, Ma., in 1937, Neil Parker first came to New Hamp- shireasaresidentofNewton. HisfamilymovedtoKing *onwhenNeilwasseven years old. He attended D.J. Bakie Elementary School from grade two, then at- tended Sanborn Seminary, the currentsite ofSanborn Regional High School. In 1957,Neil Parkerentered activedutywiththeUnited StatesNavy for twoyears. HeremainedintheNavyReservesforsixyearsafterthat. Hewenton to seek andgain employmentat Western Electric Co., currentlyAT&T. Neil Parker became an active member ofthe Kingston Police force in 1960, asaparttimeofficerfortheforce. HewaselectedparttimePoliceChiefin 1968,then becamethetown'sfirstelectedfulltimePoliceChiefin 1972. Forthe past23 years. ChiefParkerhas held that office, becoming an integral part ofthe Kingston community. Inadditiontohispoliceduties.ChiefParkerhasbeenaninvolvedcitizen in many areas ofKingston. He served on the Kingston Safety Committee, the Kingston Lions Club andvarious otherboards and committees. Neil spent some time as an E.M.T. for Kingston's Fire Department and even sat on the Board of DirectorsoftheBoyScoutsofAmerica,provinghiswillingnesstoservehiscom- munitymanytimes over. ThededicationofNeilParkertotheTownofKingston isunquestionable andforthatreason,thetownwelcomesthischancetoofferitsowndedicationtoa man who represents admirablythe spiritofKingston's citizens.
