significantcontributiontoourcommunity. Itiswithsinceregratitude
thatthe2006AnnualReportisdedicatedto
CAROLYN HARLOW
D.
CarolynwasraisedinSwampscott,MassachusettsandafterlivinginByfield,
Massachusettsforanumberofyears,movedtoKingstonin 1967.
WhileinByfield, CarolynwasveryactivewiththeGirl ScoutsofAmericaandservedas
theirCampDirectorformanyyears. EvenaftermovingtoKingston, shecontinuedher
involvementwiththeGirlScoutsOrganization.
SincecomingtoKingston,CarolynhasvolunteeredherservicestotheTowninmany
ways. ShewasanactiveparticipantofthePlanningBoardformanyyears andalso
servedastheBoard's Secretary.
Carolynwasalsoinstrumentalinformingthe SolidWasteTaskForceandhas servedas
Chairpersonformanyyears. Thisgroupactivelypromotesrecyclingandsponsorsa
wasteoilcollectiononceamonth. Carolynhasalsoobtainedgrantmoniestohelpdefray
thecostsofHouseholdHazardousWasteCollections. NotonlydoesCarolynhelp
organizethesecollections, sheisalsoanactiveparticipantinthecollectionprocessitself!
MostofyouareprobablymostfamiliarwithCarolynthroughherworkfortheKingston
Days CelebrationeachAugust. ShecanbefoundIctheKo-Mi-TeeKitchenFoodTent
fromeai'lymorningthroughlatenighteachdayoftheCelebration. Carolynworkswith
theKingstonDaysCommitteeallyearinpreparationforthatweekend. Itisayear-long
efforttoprocure familyentertairmientandcoordinateftmevents. Carolynis anactive
participantinallthepreparation!
CarolynretiredfromtheU.S. Postal Serviceafterservingovertwentyyears. She
continuestoworkpart-timeforSafewayTransportation.
Inyearspast,Carolynparticipatedinthe SledDogRacesandJuly4^**Celebrationswhich
wereonceheldonthePlains. Atonetime, shealsobredandraisedracehorses.
Andso,itiswithgreatprideandappreciationthatwerecognizeCarolynHarlowforher
manycontributionstoKingstonandarepleasedto dedicatetoherthis2006Town
Report.
