SELECTMEN : The Selectmen meet at the Selectmen's office on Thursday nights from 7:00 to 9:00. The public hours are 7:30 to 9:00, There are no public hours on the last Thursday of the month. THE CLERK FOR THE SELECTMEN Connie Boyd is at the Selectmen's Office in the winter from 11am to 4pm. Her summer hours are from 10am to 4pm. She is at the office to provide permits or forms, dump stickers, copies of tax cards or any miscellaneous town related business. TOWN CLERK Gretchen Poisson is at the Selectmen's Office Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm to 8pm. She licenses automobiles, trailers, motorcycles, mopeds dogs and , boats. She registers births and deaths, and provides marriage licenses. Her deputy is Jean Girard. TAX COLLECTOR Charlotte Chamberlain is at the Selectmen's Office on Thursday mornings from Sam to 10am. She also has special hours on Monday nights from 6pm to 8pm for two months after the tax bills come out. These hours are also listed on the tax bills. LIBRARY The library is open on Monday nights from 6pm to 8:30pm, Wednesdays 2pm to 5pm, Fridays from 3pm to 6:30pm, and Saturday mornings from 9am to 12 noon. THE TRANSFER STATION AND THE RECYCLING CENTER The transfer station and the recycling center, aka the dump, is open Fridays from 11am to 5pm, and Saturdays from Sam to 6pm. TOWN BOARDS AND COMMITTEES The PLANNING BOARD regularly meets at the Wells Memorial School on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7pm. Their work session is at the Library on the 4th Wednesday of the month. The ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT meets at the Library on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7pm. The CONSERVATION COMMISSION meets at the Library on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7pm. The HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMITTEE meets at the Library on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7pm. The phone number for the Selectmen's Office and the Library is 827-3431, the Highway Department is 827-3074, and Wells Memorial School is 827-3272. Colony, III Russell Downing Barry O'Dwyer Gretchen Poisson Allan Saari Roger Sundstrom TOWN OF HARRISVILLE MINUTES OF THE TOWN MEETING, MARCH 9, 1993 Moderator John J Colony opened the polls under Article 1, at 11:00am. The meeting was then recessed until the end of the school board meeting. The polls were closed at 8:30pm. The school board meeting went until about 9:30pm. As motion was made to recess the town meeting until Saturday morning at 10:00am. The Moderator pointed out that the ballots would be counted that night. There some discussion that some people work Saturday morning. The motion was made to change the meeting to Saturday at 1:30pm, but not seconded. The fire department objected because they had a meeting Saturday afternoon. A voice vote was taken and the nays had it, so the meeting proceeded. The Moderator asked for a moment of silence in memory for Barbara Haggblad, Billy St. Peter, and Lou Carey. ARTICLE 1: To choose all necessary Town Officers for the year ensuing.
