ANNUAL REPORT STILLINGS FARM TOWN OF BARTLETT NEW HAMPSHIRE 1993 STILLINGS FARM Thecover photoshows the Stillings Farm located uptowards theendof the Allen Road. This property has been a part of Bartlett's history since the Selectmen purchasedortraded forthe property yearsagosothetown would not have to transportschool children from way up in the forest. Since that time the propertyhasbeenleasedbyvariouspartiesbutinrecentyearshasfalleninto astaleofdisrepair. TheSelectmen havebeen concerned with thecondition ofthe property for a couple ofyears and last year authorized emergency repairs. This year with the helpofthe Conservation Commission, a major repair project was undertaken which replaced the roofand sealed up the structure. The Selectmen wouldliketothank DavidShedd whoorganized and oversaw the project and kept up the interest in the property. The Selectmen hope future work parties will rehabilitate the interior and the property can be used by school and community groups for study and recreation. Many of Bartlett's citizens have been thedirectorindirectbeneficiariesofthegenerosityandsupportofthe localski clubsovertheyearsandtheSelectmen are proudtodedicatethis year's Town Report to Bartlett's "part time" good friends and neighbors. The following articles in the warrant will be acted upon on Thursday, March 10, 1994atsix thirtyo'clock in theeveningattheJosiah Bartlett Elementary School in Bartlett Village. ARTICLE 1. Tochooseall necessaryTown Officers fortheensuingyear. ARTICLE 2. To raisesuchsumsofmoney as maybenecessarytodefray Town charges for the ensuing year and make appropriations ofthe same. Selectmen favor. ARTICLE 3. To see ifthe Town will vote to authorize indefinitely, until specificrescissionofsuchauthority, theSelectmenandLibraryTrusteesto applyforandacceptonbehalfoftheTownanygifts, legacies,anddevises made to the Town in trust for public purposes as permitted in NH RSA 31:19 and accept and expend without further action by Town Meeting, money from State, Federal, and/or other governmental units or private sources in accordance with NH RSA 31:95-b and 202-A:4-c. Selectmen favor. ARTICLE 4. To see ifthe Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to acceptgiftsofpersonal property which maybeofferedtothetown forany public purpose, pursuant to RSA 31:95-e. The Selectmen must hold a publichearingbeforeacceptingsuchgifts,andtheacceptanceshallnotbind thetowntoraise,appropriate,orexpendanypublicfundsfortheoperation, maintenance, repair, or replacement of any such personal property. Selectmen favor. ARTICLE 5. Tosee iftheTown will vote toaccept theprovision ofRSA 33:7 which provides that the town at any annual meeting may adopt an articleauthorizingindefinitely,untilspecificrescissionofsuchauthority,the Selectmen and Town Treasurer to borrow a sum in anticipation of the collection oftaxes(Tax Anticipation Notes) forthecurrent municipal year and to issue in the name of the Town and on the credit of the same, negotiable notestherefore, tobe repaidduring thecurrent yearfrom taxes collected within the current municipal year.
