Donaldwasa lifelong residentof Sanborntonexceptfora brieftimeafterhemarriedhelived in KansasCity, KansaswherehissisterRuby and herhusband HoraceAcesalsoresided. Heand his brotherGlennworkedthedairyfarm;thefamiliar red barn had been builtbytheirfatherHarryin 1914, untiltheanimalsweresoldoffin 1985. Hemarried JosieMyrtleCollinsonOctober9, 1949and hadtwochildren Hollyand Markwhowerethe fifthgeneration tolivein thefarmhouse. DonaldservedasdeaconoftheFirstBaptistChurchformany years and was a memberoftheSanbornton FireDepartment. Helovedtotinkerand manyofhiscreationscanbefound in homesaround ownand acrossthecountry. On a summerdayheloved toridehismopedaroundtownand stopbytovisitanoldfriend andtalkabout theold days. Hewould always haveasmileonhisfaceanda kindword tosay. Donald and hiswifeJosielovedtotravelandafterretirementhadachancetovisit24countries andall but7ofthestates. Hewasalways happytoreturnhometohis beloved Sanborntonwith itsfamiliarfaces andfriendstovisit. Dedication Tom Lafond 1927-2008 ThomasMauriceLafondwasborn inProvidence, RhodeIsland and moved northtoNewHampshirein 1933. HespentmostofhislifeinLaconiaandSanbornton. Tomserved hiscountryintheUSArmyinthe PhilippinesduringWorldWar11andlaterintheNewHampshireAirNationalGuard. Locallyheworkedas amachinistforScott&WilliamsandasadriverforPikeIndustries. Afterraisingtheirchildren Bobby, DonaldandTerry,Tomand hiswifeof56years, Lucillelivedontheir old redfarm onWoodmanand HuseRoadstendingtotheirsmall herdofcows. Togetherwith hisson Bobby, TomeventuallybuilttheirnewhomeoverlookingLakeWinnisquam on UpperBayRoad. Tom and LucilleeventuallymovedtoCram Roadin 1999. TomenjoyedtheoutdoorsandthecountrylifeofSanbornton. Hecouldeasilyspendcountless hours workingin hisworkshop.Tomalsoenjoyed hunting,fishing, andgardeningbutenjoyed mostbeingable tohelphisneighbors. Tomhadaloveforlifeand heloved people. Forallthosewho knewTom, itwasn'thardtosee howeasy itwasforhimtoputsmileson people'sfaces.Tom hadawonderfulsenseofhumorandcouldn'tget throughoneofhisstorieswithoutbreakingoutinlaughter. Tomwill bemissed byeveryonehetouched. . Memoriam In Anne Cioffi 1931-2008 AnneCioffiwas bornand raised in Darien, Connecticut. Sheand herfamilycameonfrequentvacations totheLakes Region beginningwhenshewasachild. Herfatherboughtasmallcabinon Lake Winnisquam thatshe, and herhusband of47years, Carminerenovatedandeventuallyretiredtoin 1981 Anne had variousjobsin herlifeincludingbeingaPrivate Investigatoraswellasworking inthe Governor'sOffice. HermostrecentpositionwasthatofTrusteeofTheTrustFundsfortheTownof Sanbornton. Known by hermanyfriendsandfamilyas"Annie"shewasveryactivein localaffairsandwas neverafraid tospeak upatweeklytown meetings.Annesuccessfullyledthechargeonthelandmark Right-To-Know wLhaewnins2o0m0e1o.nSehienatlhweacyosmmhaudniatypanseseiodnedfohrehlpe.rtownandwasalsoknownforbeingthefirstonetohelp Annecould easilyspend hoursemailingherfriendsorcalling peoplewith herbeloved cell phonewhile shewasononeofherdailywalks. Sheenjoyed pokerandfishingandlovedtobeouton thelakewith her manyfriends. Anne had a specialplace intheheartsofthepeoplewhoknewherwell.
