Inthespringof1750,thelandwassurveyedandaplan(map)ofnumbered lotswasdrawnupandlotsauctionedoff. Thetermsofthesettlementwere: Thereshouldbefortyfamiliessettledwithinfiveyearsafterpeacewasproclaimed betweentheEnglish,FrenchandIndians. Eachlotownerwastobuildahouseatleast 16squarefeetandeachfamilyshovildhavethreeacresclearedwithinsixyearsanda sawmillwithinfive. Itisnotknownexactlyhowmanypeoplecameintheyearsbetween1750and1762.
