Betty Hoff served 19 years as Milton's Tax Collector. In a time where technology and impersonal service has become commonplace, Betty stood out. Many a day and night, Betty could be found working diligently on the Town's Tax records. When someone needed a helping hand or a little guidance, Betty was always there. Dedicated Town employees like Betty are a rare breed in this day and age and we were fortunate to have her. She has left a legacy that will be hard to fill, she has left a void in the office, that may be impossible to fill. Betty, you were truly a special person and you are and always will be missed. ANNUAL REPORT 1998 /A- ^^(iffl^mnrtr Charlotte Stewart was truly a special person. Her commitment to the beauty, history, and preservation of what was right about Milton is unchallenged. Charlotte served on many committees and groups throughout our community and her knowledge was invaluable. Charlotte was active in our Farm Museum, the Plummer's Ridge Society, and in our efforts to maintain the beauty and open space in Milton. Through her efforts and financial donations, much of Milton's beauty has been maintained. Charlotte was what Milton is all about. As someone who knew her as both a Community leader and as a personal friend, Milton has suffered a great loss. Ted Tasker was a former Selectman and substantial land owner in Milton. Ted, like Charlotte and Betty, was committed to making Milton a place you could call home. Throughout his time and ipii career in Milton, Ted always WKm worked to do what was right for our Town. The Town is grateful to Ted and those like him who have served our community.
