This pioneering effort is a souvenir of scholarship and an indispensable reference for future decision making concerning tourism development in this vast continent. The inclusion of a color map is another first for Annals. Other locales in this volume range from the Seychelles to Ireland. ‘Topics addressed include the impact of moun- taineering and a range of analytical methods measuring various pa- rameters of tourism. Several articles contribute vigorous debate to questions of discrimination, racism, colonialism and ethnic heritage in the tourism experience of producers and consumers.
