NOTIFICATION

WHEREAS, the State Election Commission issued Notification vide Ref.No.
30/SEC-B2/2021, dt.23.01.2021 for conduct of ordinary elections to Gram
Panchayats in the State in 4 Phases indicating the names of the Revenue Divisions
along with Mandals in Annexure-II therein;
AND WHEREAS, the State Election Commission issued Notification vide
Ref.No. 30/SEC-B2/2021, dt.25.01.2021 rescheduling the Phase-I Gram Panchayat
elections as Phase-IV commencing from issue of Election Notice by Returning
Officers concerned on 10.02.2021, as arrangements were not made by District
administration for receipt of nominations on 25.01.2021 for Phase-I Gram Panchayat
elections for the reasons mentioned in the said Notification;

AND WHEREAS, it was indicated in the Notification dt.25.01.2021 that the
Phase-II, Phase-III and Phase-IV Gram Panchayat elections notified in the
Notification dt.23.01.2021 have become Phase-I, Phase-II and Phase-III respectively
as a consequence thereof;
AND WHEREAS, in the Video Conference convened on 27.01.2021, the
Collector & District Election Authority, Prakasam made a request for modification in
phasing of polls keeping in view the better mobilization and deployment of Police
force for simultaneous programmes of Covid vaccination and Gram Panchayat
elections and accordingly sent revised phasing proposals vide Ref.No. GP
Elections/2021 (Pts.) A3, dt.27.01.2021;
NOW, THEREFORE, under the circumstances stated by the Collector & District
Election Authority, Prakasam, the State Election Commission, in exercise of the
powers conferred under Article 243-K of the Constitution of India, sub-section (2) of
Section 13 and sub-section (2) of Section 14 of the A.P. Panchayat Raj Act, 1994
(Act 13 of 1994), hereby, calls upon the registered voters in the Gram Panchayats
located in the Revenue Divisions indicated in Annexure-II appended to this
Notification, to elect their respective Ward Members and Sarpanches and notifies the
Election Schedule in Annexure-I appended to this Notification. The Collector &
District Election Authority, Prakasam shall take necessary steps for wide publicity
about the revised phasing of polls.
