I believe I've mentioned to all of you that this has to do with continuing the compiling of our family genealogical records and^putting them into good shape. This will take the form of two loose-leaf books which I'm sending you under separate cover. I decided to send you what I have now because from the looks of things it may be some time next fall or winter before I can really get back at this and send you additional material. There is a long explanation in one of the books which explains how the system will work. As I do send you additional material you can simply put it into the ring binders. The longer I live and the more I look at family records and the more time I spend at cleaning out old stuff from houses which will no longer be occupied, the more convinced I become that unless such records are boiled down and put into good concise form, the less chance there is of their ever being at all useful. — Piles of stuff stored away in boxes are meaningless they will never be looked at and in all probability will be thrown out sooner r—ather than later. The same thing goes for pictures of ancestors nobody has room to hang them on their walls and in all likelihood the identity of the ancestor will be lost. On the other hand it is nice to see what an ancestor looked like and I plan to incorporate in my new books some loose- leaf pages of pictures of ancestors in such form that they can not only be kept conveniently, but also right along with a mini- biography of that ancestor. The completion of all this, based on the voluminous notes which I already have, is going to take quite some time, but I do enjoy working at it and I would hope that the end result will be something meaningful that jthe following generations will really like to keep. ^y^^f (Scott Mueller) MUELLER CLIPS PERFECTION FOR QUICK CONNECTION To The Reader This book contains names ofall the ancestors ofScott Mueller and Lois Fuller which have been found to date ofpublication. Sources for the names and some biographical data are included. Research was done to try to trace back only to the immigrant to America in each family. The families are grouped alphabetically throughout the book. You will find the following information helpful for the use ofthis book: Index ofSurnames There follows an alphabetical list ofall the surnames. The FAMILY name is followed by PAGE number in the "Ancestral Register" followed by SM (line ofScott Mueller) ofLM (line ofLois Fuller). Note that in some cases both SM and LF are found, making them cousins. The asterik (*) means incomplete research. "Ancestral Register" Although there are numerous copies ofthis book there is only one "Ancestral Register" in the form ofa loose-leafbinder which is located at Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland, Ohio. Instead ofreferring to that binder you will find the person you want by their number on the "Ancestral Register" Charts. These are located in pockets at the front and back ofthis book. There is one chart for Scott Mueller and his sister and one chart for Lois Fuller and her sister. Due to space limitations some names in the twelfth generation do not appear on the "Ancestral Register" Chart. The Numbering System The number ofeach person's father is exactly twice his or her own number. The number ofeach person's mother is twice his or her own number, plus one. Thus every ancestor recorded can be identified not only by name but by their individual number.
