Amateur Radio Internet Gateway Directory incorporating Worldwide EchoLink, eQSO, IRLP and Internet Linking Stations, UK Amateur Radio Repeaters and UK Licenced Gateway Link Stations. Dave Williams G8PUO Volume 2 : September 2003 Amateur Radio is a unique, fascinating and friendly hobby which captivates the interest and enjoyment of millions of people, from all walks of life, around the world. One of its great benefits is the huge range of activities, from people communicating via radio, people communicating via the Internet, people with interests including Weather Satellites, Short Wave Listening, Radio Astronomy, Meteor Scatter, Meteorology and Propagation, right up to those talking to the International Space Station using the latest digital technology. Radio Amateurs are working from the cutting edge of radio communications technology through to those whom gain much enjoyment from older radios and building the ‘electronic birds nest’. Amateur Radio is essentially a hobby which is fun for everyone. With the advances of the Internet Connection speeds and ‘24/7’ connections, largely though Broadband (ADSL), connecting an Amateur Radio Transceiver to the internet, is now a reality. The Internet Gateway is this new and increasingly popular ‘mode’ of operation. This new ‘mode’ of operation, allows many users, such as those whom do not have the luxury of outside antennas or those whom live in built up cities, to communicate with other fellow Amateurs around the world using both radio and computers. It also has proven to rekindle interest from older Radio Amateurs and spark valued enthusiasm for new blood within the hobby. This publication has been produced to assist both RF and PC based Amateur Radio Stations to quickly look up and reference contacts and now contains over 56,000 stations! The directory and callbook is a culmination of merging and manipulating a number of different databases, tables, web pages and information published elsewhere on the internet and within the Internet Gateway Software listings. Any text or descriptions given are those which accompanied the callsign at the time of publication and no responsibility can be assumed for accuracy and for any location information text posted at that time of data collection. All details provided are done so in good faith and for reference only. Some EchoLink node numbers are subject to change if users, repeaters and links ‘upgrade’ to the ‘Vanity Node Numbers’ scheme. It is hoped that you find this new edition of interest and are able to put it to good use. The important thing is to enjoy the amateur radio hobby, keep in contact with existing friends and through the use of this Internet technology, make many new ones. Finally, the Internet Gateway’s are connected to many Ham Repeaters/Links Worldwide, most of which are run voluntarily. Please remember to support your local repeater group as your contributions help maintain these valuable stations and access to the world.
