Alvin ISD and SCSC have a six-year history of working together where area youth have benefited from after school use of fields at Ryan Junior High for both youth soccer club practice and games. The Soccer Club is a registered non-profit organization. SCSC is proposing to improve the play fields at York Elementary at their expense in exchange for priority reservation of the fields for after school and weekend use. The attached proposal identifies many of the improvements including installing new hybrid Bermuda turf, irrigation system, licensed herbicide and fertilization, and field maintenance. This is a significant commitment by the Soccer Club and one consistent with the practices and mission of Alvin ISD. We recommend that the Board of Trustees consider and approve Shadow Creek Soccer Clubs proposal and allow improvements to begin during the upcoming spring break. Page 1 10
