Ltd. Is committed to a quality system of continuous improvement for use the manufacturing of Aluminium wire products. It is our policy to develop, produce and deliver products and services which consistently meet our customers needs. ABOUT US KJV Alloy Conductors Pvt. Ltd. started its operation with manufacturing AAC, ACSR, Bare Aluminium Wire & Strips, Bare Aluminium Alloy Wire in the year 1989. Subsequently the product range was expanded to include AAAC & DPC Wire 7 Strips. These conductors are employed for HT & LT Distribution & Transmission lines. Company has catered to the requirements of major Thermal Power Stations & Power Transmission & Distribution Authorities in INDIA as well as Abroad. Our products cover entire Range of Voltage Distribution & Transmission Lines Suitable upto 500 kV. We are ISO 9001:2008 certified company. In year 2009 we have started one more unit in Boregaon, Madhya Pradesh 65 kms from Nagpur where we have gone for backward integration, we have started Aluminium continuous casting rolling mill with capacity of 1500 MT per month. Total Production Capacity : Conductors – 2400 MT per annum. Aluminium Wire Rod – 75000 MT per annum. The Centre wire or wires are of galvanized steel and the outer layer or layers are of Aluminium. As such steel cored - Aluminium conductors have been widely adopted for high voltage transmission lines specially for long spans. It has high tensile strength but it reduces with rise of temperature above 65xC. There are many types of such composite conductors which are covered in IS 398 (P II) / 1976-1996, BS 0215 (P II) / 1970 and other international standards. The conductivity of steel cored Aluminium conductor is taken as that of Aluminium portion alone as the steel wires have high resistance to alternating currents. The strength is taken as 85 percent of the sum of steel wires plus 95% of the sum of the strength of the Aluminium wires. The factor 85% and 95% allows for the stranding. The strength of Aluminium wires varies from 23000 lb. per sq. inch (for larger wires) to 28000 lb. per sq. . inch (for small wires) and of steel from 179000 lb./in to 200000 lb./in. The total strength of steel cored Aluminium conductor is 2 2 normally 50% greater than that of equivalent copper conductors. And the weight only three quarters as much (one half due to Aluminium and a quarter to steel). It is claimed that the result is a conductor with smaller ratio of loading to strength than any other conductor, even allowing for increased wind and ice loads due to the increased diameter as compared with that of the equivalent copper conductor. The sag is therefore the least so that supporting towers may be shorter or the span length greater for given sag than for any other conductor. The larger diameter is useful in very high voltage lines as the corona losses are less. ANNEXURE 'A' AAAC - HS BASIC PROPERTIES AAAC - HS TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES ULTIMATE TENSILE STRENGTH (kg/mm2) (Over Electro - Mechanically Equivalent ACSR) Minimum Average 30.00 MECHANICAL STRENGTH TO WEIGHT ratio is sufficient high to avoid steel core, hence: Typical • Light conductors Wire Diameter Range (mm) • Smaller tension, smaller loads on angle and dead end towers From 1.19 upto 3.30 32.7 • Easier handling and transportation on site. Above 3.30 upto 3.80 32.0 • Homogeneous conductors: Above 3.80 upto 4.30 31.3 • Even distribution of stresses across the section. ULTIMATE ELONGATION (percent in 200 mm) • Smaller gyration, easier running out under tension Minimum 4.0 • Simpler, safer and economical joints Typical 5.5 • Highervalue of scrap MODULI OF ELASTICITY (kg/mm2) SURFACE HARDNESS twice that of Aluminium strands, hence: Initial modulus (average) 5200 to 5600 • Less prone to damage and scratches during running out Final modulus (average) 6250 to 6450 • Smaller corona losses and radio interference TEMPERATURE COEFFICIENT OF 0.00360 • Better performance under splicing and compression RESISTANCE per x C at(20xC) • Greater reliability in service, easier erection TEMPERATURE COEFFICIENT OF LINEAR 23x10-6 EXPANSION per x C (Between 10 and 100xC) CREEP (10 year typical) 0.05% CHEMICAL RESISTANCE BRINELL HARDNESS (BHN) 80 • In AAAC, absence of steel / zinc / Aluminium cell hence ELECTRICAL VOL. RESISTIVITY at • Better corrosion resistance in sea coast or industrial areas 20Xc(x-mm2/ m ) Standard 0.0325 ELONGATION almost equal to that of steel (4%) Typical 0.0320 • In AACSR, for lines in mountains and estuaries: SPECIFIC WEIGHT (gram / cubic centimeters) 2.70 • Excellent mechanical homogeneous ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY at 20xC(% IACS) • High breaking strength for long spans Standard 52.5 Typical 53.3 9 Contact:- Ph. :+91-7104-237197/236182 Fax:+91-7104-237988 Global Fax: +91-11-43852575 Email:[email protected] Website :www.kjvalloys.com
