They, with their first three children, emigrated to North Carolina in 1791, arriving at Wilmington in August. Allen Cameron died at the family home in Baker's Creek in 1800. Their children were: I. Archie Cameron b. c. 1774 in Fife, d. 1842 in Cumberland County, North Carolina II. Dougald Cameron b. c. 1784 in Fife III. James Cameron b. c. 1786 in Fife IV. Margaret Cameron (unsure of her age or order of birth) had already married a McLaughlin and remained in Scotland. V. Nancy Cameron b. on Baker's Creek in Bladen County, North Carolina, after the family settled there in 1792. Nancy married Daniel Cameron and had no children. VI. Infant Cameron, who was taken from Bladen County and buried in Cameron Hill in present Harnett County. Allen married Mary Stewart in Auchternchity, Scotland. Sallie Baker near Bluff Church and moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1856, where he reared a large family. He was still living in 1895. C. Hugh Dougald Cameron m. Belle Colvin and settled near the mouth of Little River (Lane Station). He reared a large family and was a historian well versed in the early traditions of the Cape Fear. D. Christian Cameron b. 1819, d. 1864, m. Mr. Bass and moved to Georgia while still a young woman; no further information. E. Mary Catherine Cameron b. 1828, d. 1874, m. her cousin Jimmie Cameron, son of Archie's brother, James. F. Sarah Ann Cameron b. 1830, d. 1864, m. William Senter. The only member of this family was living a few years ago, near Humbolt, Tennessee, according to what John Burton Cameron wrote in 1968. He had been found an infant on the doorsteps of a Dalrymple family near Jonesboro (present Lee County, North Carolina, originally part of Moore County). It was never known who he was. He was raised by the Dalrymples and named John (after a member of the family) and May (because of the month in which he was found).
