Additionally it contains information that will contribute to a proper installation of the Alcatel-Lucent 1643 AM/AMS. Section 5- Upgrade Procedures This section provides the procedure for a maintenance upgrade of the Alcatel-Lucent 1643 AM/AMS Network Element (NE) software to Alcatel-Lucent 1643 AM/AMS Release 6.1I if applicable. The maintenance upgrade can be performed with the ITM-CIT (Craft Interface Terminal), with the WaveStar® ITM-SC or with the Lucent® OMS, and all three the procedures are given. Existing features are not described in this document because this information is provided in the Applications, Planning and Ordering Guide, which is included in the Alcatel-Lucent 1643 AM/AMS documentation set. The release R6.1I is a maintenance release which replaces the R6.1H software. Apart from these fixes, release R6.1I has the following new features: PM History bin available on ITM-CIT. In this release Performance Monitoring supports History Bins to be looked up (and written to file) with ITM-CIT. In previous releases, history bins were only available in case the Network Element was managed by ITM-SC. Support of X2E3-V3 and X2DS3-V3 Option Boards. This release supports the following two option boards: X2E3-V3 (item code: CMC407B, comcode: 109673004) X2DS3-V3 (item code: CMC408B, comcode: 109672998) Provisionable AIS Insertion for E1 ports on main board. This release supports Provisionable AIS Insertion on 2 Mbit/s interface, in case set in ISDN mode. AIS can be forced in PDH-> SDH as well as SDH->PDH direction.
