The publications within “Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing” are primarily proceedings of important conferences, symposia and congresses. They cover significant recent developments in the field, both of a foundational and applicable character. An important characteristic feature of the series is the short publication time and world-wide distribution. This permits a rapid and broad dissemination of research results. ** Indexing: The books of this series are submitted to ISI Proceedings, EI-Compendex, DBLP, SCOPUS, Google Scholar and Springerlink ** More information about this series at http://www.springer.com/series/11156 Sudip Kumar Sahana Vandana Bhattacharjee (cid:129) Editors Advances in Computational Intelligence Proceedings of Second International Conference on Computational Intelligence 2018 123 Editors SudipKumar Sahana VandanaBhattacharjee Department ofComputer Science Department ofComputer Science andEngineering andEngineering Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra Ranchi, Jharkhand, India Ranchi, Jharkhand, India ISSN 2194-5357 ISSN 2194-5365 (electronic) Advances in Intelligent Systems andComputing ISBN978-981-13-8221-5 ISBN978-981-13-8222-2 (eBook) https://doi.org/10.1007/978-981-13-8222-2 ©SpringerNatureSingaporePteLtd.2020 Thisworkissubjecttocopyright.AllrightsarereservedbythePublisher, whetherthewholeorpart of the material is concerned, specifically the rights of translation, reprinting, reuse of illustrations, recitation, broadcasting, reproduction on microfilms or in any other physical way, and transmission orinformationstorageandretrieval, electronicadaptation, computersoftware, orbysimilarordissimilar methodologynowknownorhereafterdeveloped. The definition of computational intelligence was introduced by Bezdek (1994) as:asystemiscalledcomputationallyintelligentifitdealswithlow-leveldatasuch as numerical data, has a pattern-recognition component, and does not use knowl- edge in the artificial intelligence sense. Additionally, Bezdek and Marks (1993) clearly mentioned that computational intelligence should be based on soft com- puting methods. And the principal constituents of soft computing (SC) are fuzzy logic (FL), neural computing (NC), evolutionary computation (EC), machine learning(ML),andprobabilisticreasoning(PR).Inthisbook, wetargetedtocover the recent trends, developments, and future possibilities of these soft computing techniques. Additionally, we also cover the bio-inspired computing techniques, which have become widely popular in recent times, in this book. Computational intelligence has a rational theoretical part as well as an experi- mental wing. In this proceedings, we try to balance theory and experiments by selecting papers from both the new theoretical findings in different concepts of computationalintelligenceandtheapplicationpaperswhicharefullofexperiments for exploring new possibilities where the computational intelligence technique is superior. This book is divided into seven parts, namely Soft Computing, Evolutionary ComputingandBioInspiredAlgorithms,ImageProcessingandCognitionSystems, DataMining,IntelligentSystemsandModelling,InterdisciplinaryApplicationsand Other Applications of Computational Intelligence. v vi Preface ICCI 2018 received 86 submissions from different countries in the world. Each submissionwasreviewedbyatleasttworeviewers.Basedontherigorousreviews by the reviewers, 28 high-quality papers were selected for the publication with an acceptance rate of 32.55%.
