Eighteenspeciesofstaphylinidbeetles,withtheexceptionofpselaphinebeetles,havehitherto
beenreportedfromtheIslandofAwaji-shimainHyogoPrefecture,WestJapan,byKINosHITA
(1973,1974),TAKAHASHI (1984),NAOMI (1997),WATANABE(2001,2004)andKAwAKAMI
(2007). Throughthecourtesyof Dr.MasaruNIsHIKAwAI hadanopportunitytoexaminea
shortseriesofstaphylinidbeetlesobtainedonthisisland. Fourofthemarenewtothefaunaof
theisland. Theyarerecordedbelowwiththecollectingdata.
