A vajra master of the highest category like Guru Padmasambhava, along with many others of the Nyingma and Kagyu lineages, can transfer or point out the state of the great perfection in a ash of their enlightened blessings. is state is known as rigpa changchup kyi sem. e great Dzogchen master Rongdzom Chudrak stated, the difference between sentient beings and enlightened ones is only a thin veil. at veil is drawn between having recognition of the state of rigpa or not. And in Samantabhadra’s Aspiration it similarly states, sentient beings and enlightened ones arise from the same source; upon recognition of the state of rigpa Samantabhadra came to be the primordial Buddha, while sentient beings, due to their lack of recognition came to be themselves. In either case, the nature has never gone anywhere. When the sun goes behind a cloud it does not seem to shine, yet the sun is ever present in the sky. e teachings of the Dzogpa Chenpo can reveal one’s own ever present enlightened nature if one has the merit to make a connection to a Dzogpa Chenpo master and the teachings. Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche is a great master of our time particularly for the western audience. He has lived much of his life for the benet of his western students and his deeds and compassion are themselves proof of his great mastery of Dzogpa Chenpo and Mahamudra. is book is a great inspiration and deeply illuminating for those seriously pursuing this path. In studying this text may we all appreciate, enjoy, and remember his presence with us. Dzigar Kongtrül Rinpoche
