Theprimary purposeistodeterminehowconstructiontradeforemanimpactsafetyperformancethrough theirmanagementpractices. Datawerecollectedthroughpersonalinterviewswithroofing constructionforeman. Theforemanwereaskedabouttheir"managementpractices","trade background", "amountofexperience" andtheir"safetyrecord". Comparisonswerethen madebetweendifferentforemenon thebasisofthefrequencyofinjuriesontheirjobs. Resultsshowedthattheamountofexperienceofaforemanisrelatedtojobsitesafety. The typeofroofinginstalled,andworkingon flatroofsversesslopedroofs,hasaninfluence onsafety. Further,itwasshown thatthemoretimeaforemanspendsonthejobreduces theinjuryfrequency. Thestudyalsoshowstheremaybeatendencyforunionforemento havelowerinjuryfrequenciesthanopen shopforemen.
