Abstract The Stathmopoda pedetla species-group is new]y proposed and characterized by the absence of forewing
vein CuA2, the presenc oef a pai rof smal] projecti oonns the cephalic margin of the tegumell and the very large
cucu]lus in the male genitali aF.ive new species, S ,pt{llicunea nt.a sp,, S, atridorsalis n, sp,, S, dorsiocul enl. lspa, ,S.
sericicola n. sp. and S. centihasta n, sp, are inc]ude din the species-group in Japan .The adult external characters, wing
venation and male and femal egenita loifa two known Japanes sepecies belongi ntgo the species-group, S. pedella
(Linnae ur7s6,1) and S, stimulata Meyric k1,913 ,as well as of the fiv enew species are illustr aatnde dcompared in
detail.
