(Figs.1-5) Bodylength:4.1-4.4mm(fromfrontmarginofhead toanalend);2.3-2.4mm (from frontmarginof head toelytralapices). Body elongate, nearlyparallel-sided and subdepressed above. Colour reddish brown to reddish black and moderatelyshining, withabdomenblackish; labrum and mandiblesyellowishbrown,palpi,antennaeexcept for yellowishbrownbasalsegment, andlegsyellow. Antennaeslender,extendjng tothemiddleofpronotumandnotthickenedapicad,withbasalsegmentpolished, the remainingsbecominggraduallyopaquetowardstheapicalmostsegment,1stcylindrical androbust,morethan three timesaslongasbroad, 2nddistinctlylonger thanbroad (length/width=1.82)butapparentlyshorter(2nd/1st=0.40)andalittlenarrower(2nd/ 1st=0.73)than1st,3rdto9thequalinwidthtooneanotherandgraduallydecreasing in length, thougheachsegment isdistinctlylonger thanbroad,10thhardlyshorter (10th/9th=0.94)butslightlybroader(10th/9th=1.11) than9th,apicalmost fusiform, morethantwiceas longasbroadandapparentlylonger(apicalmost/lOth=1.61)and slightlybroader(apicalmost/10th=1.10) thanloth. Pronotum gently convex and semiova1, somewhat longer than broad (length/ width=1.07), almost aslongasbutsomewhat narrower (pronotum/head=0.92) than head, widest atabout anterior thirdandmorestronglynarrowed posteriad thanante- riad;lateralsidesarcuateinanterior thirdandalmoststraightinposterior two-thirds asseenfromdorsalside;anteriormarginrounded,posteriormarginfeeblyemarginate at themiddle, anteriorandposterioranglesrounded, thoughtheformer isnot visible from above; surfacerather densely and very coarselypunctured and covered with similar setae to those on head, bearingashort indefinite longitudinal carinaat the middle before posterior margin and slightly depressed oneachside of thecarina. Scutellum relatively small and subtriangular, uneven on the surface. Legsmoderatelylong; profemur thickened, but abruptlyconstricted in apjca1fourth;protibiasomewhatdilatedapicad,hollowedinbasalhalfontheinner margjnandcloselysettledwithshortyellowishsetaeonbasalpartof thehollow,and alsoprovidedwithfourorsoblackishsetaewithinthehollow;meso-andmetatibiae sjmple;protarsa1segmentsofmalemoreslightlywidenedthanthoseinfemale. Abdomenelongate,widestatthefourthvisiblesegment,thennarrowedbothanteriad andposteriad,allthetergitescoveredwithfinebrownishpubescence;basalfourvisible 1ergjteseachshallowlyandtransverselydepressedalongthebase,anddenselycovered wjthcoarsebutmuchsmaller puncturesthanthoseonelytra, fifthvisibletergiteless denselyandlesscoarselypuncturedthanontheprecedingtergites;preapica1sternite inmalesubtriangularlyexcisedatthemiddleofposteriormargin. Malegenital organwellsclerotizedwiththeexceptionofdorsalsideofmedian lobe, elliptical, almost symmetrical. Median lobespoon-shaped, broadest near the middle, thennarrowed towardsapex,whichisna1Towlyrounded, apicalpartsome- whatprojectedventradinprofile; ventralsurfaceprovidedwithafinelongitudinal keel oneachsideofthemiddle, butthekeel isobscureinapical third. Parameres a littlelonger thanmedianlobe,eachcurvedinwardsinapicalhalf,gentlyconstricted beforethemiddleandlessstronglywidenedapicad thanbasad. New NazerisfromSouth China 133 Typeseries. Thepresentnewspeciesissimilaringeneral appearancetoN talwanus ITO from Taiwan, but differs from the latter in thepunctureson thepronotum, thenarrower elytraanddifferentconfigurationof genitalorganin themale. Notes. All thespecimensofthetypeseriesof thisnewspecieswerefoundinthe litterzoneofatemperateforestonYu'an-shanatanaltitudeofabout2,130m. ThespecificnameisgiveninhonourofProfessorZHANGHanyun,ViceDirector ofKunmingBranch,AcademiaSinica,whohelpedtheauthorsinsearchingforsoil- livingstaphylinidbeetlesintropical forestsofYunnanProvinceinSouthChina. 要 約 : 渡辺 明・??ll 鵯し年 中 国云南省 明市郊外で採集されたNazeris属の1新種. - 1992年に実 施された中日tt同学術調査によって, 中国云南省 明市郊外の玉案山の林床に・積した腐葉層から採 集された Nazeris属の1種を検した結果, 新種と判定されたので下記のとおり命名記載した. WATANABEet XIA0 本種は, 雄交尾器の形状からみて, 台湾の玉山および合能次山から記載された N taiwanus種群に 1,,, 近縁の種と考えられるが, 前11背{板はやや密に 組 く点刻され 11目 状構造が認められず 上 は前 , 月l阡板wより明らかに幅狭く ま た雄交尾器中葉はスプーン型を呈し, 端が順方に上反しているので 区別できる. 新種名は, 今回の云南省での調査に種々のご配1t、iiをいただいたi?1?_f中111科学院i't明分院副院長 に献名したものである.
