The type specimensare deposited inInsectCollection of CentralSouthUniversityofForestryandTechnology, Changsha, HunanProvince, China. Key words(cid:1) Hymenoptera, Argidae, Arge Schrank, new species, China. (cid:1) (cid:1) Arge Schrank is the largest genus in the family metascutellum almost impunctate, mesopleuron and each Argidae. Morethan 300 species have been recognized till coxa impunctate, polished; abdominal tergites distinctly 2006. It mainly distributes in the Holarctic andEthiopian microsculptured. Labrum short and broad, incised regions of the world ( Gussakovskij, 1935; Muche, anteriorly; clypea short, anterior marginalmosttruncate; 1977; Pasteels, 1953; Saini & Thind, 1995; Takeuchi, malar space slightly longer than diameter of front ocellus 1939; Smith, 1989). About 110 species of the genus (1(cid:2)2(cid:2)1(cid:2)0); eyes small and narrow with inner margins have been recorded from China ( Wei, 1997; Wei, & feebly convergent downwards, distance between eyes Wen, 1997; Wei et al., 2006; Nie &Wei, 2008) . below clearly longer than height of an eye; supraclypeal InJuly 2004, Mr. CHEN Tian(cid:1)Lin sentus a series area strongly elevated with a distinct middle carina; of specimens of Argidae for identification, which were middle fovea shallow and connected to frontal basin, collectedfrom Haichen, Liaoning Province of China. A lateral carinas parallel in upper part and convergent in study shows it is an undescribed species of Arge Schrank lower part and connected with middle carina; frons and is here described as new to science. The type elevated with a shallow and small basin, frontal wall specimens are deposited in Insect Collection of Central indistinct; interocellar and postocellar furrows absent; South University of Forestry and Technology, OOL(cid:2)POL(cid:2)OCL= 18(cid:2)11(cid:2)8; postocellar area very Changsha, Hunan Province, China. short, about3 times broad thanlong, strongly depressed and oblique; in dorsal view head behind eyes strongly Argereversinervis sp. nov.
