Key words: Gastropoda, Pulmonata, Clausiliidae, Oospira, Formosana, taxonomy, South East Asia,China. INTRODUCTION During a visit to the Mulun Nature Reserve in the province Guangxi in southern China,Mr.T.Whittenhadtheopportunitytocollectsomemolluscsandaboutonelitreof leaf litter. He kindly submitted this material to me in order to study the land molluscs. Amongc.40species ofterrestrialmolluscs, threespeciesofClausiliidaewerefound, one ofthese representedby onlysome apical whorls andthereforeunidentifiable. The other twospecies, belongingtotwodifferentgenera, wereconsiderednewtoscience.Thiswas confirmed byasurvey ofthe literature andagreed upon by Mr H.Nordsieck, whowill describeoneofthenewspecies(Hemiphaedusaspec.).Thesecondoneisdescribedbelow. Although the Chinese terrestrial molluscan fauna is relatively poorly known, with onlyafewpapersthat arepublishedduringthe lastdecennia, the family Clausiliidaeis anexception.From1998on,Luoetal.(1998)andNordsieck(2001,2002,2003,2005,2007) describedafairlylargenumberofnewspecies, accompaniedbysuperbfigures.
