Abstract AnewspeciesofthecerambycidgenusPerissusisdescribedfromthe
OgasawaraIslandsunderthenameofPerissusogasawarensls.Itiscloselyrelatedto kiu-
siuenslsandRtsutsumii,bothfromSouthwestJapan,butdiffersfromthemparticularlyin
thefeaturesofthemalegenitalia.
In September 1992, a strange specimen of the cerambycid genus Pe,rissus
emerged fromadeadbranchtakenby Mr.KojiroEsAKIonHaha-jimaIslandofthe
OgasawaraIslandsinMarchof1991. Itiscloselysimilarat firstsighttoRkiusiuensls
HAYAsHldistributedfromtheAmamiIslandsoftheRyukyustotheIzuIslandsoffcen-
tralHonshuandPtsutsumi1MAKIHARA fromOkinawaIslandofthecentralRyukyus.
Aftermycarefulexamination,however, ithasbecomeclearthatthespecimenofthe
Ogasawarasisdifferent fromthelattertwospeciesinsomedetails. Inthispaper,Iam
goingtodescribeitasanindependentnewspecies.

Elongate,subcylindrica1,black,denselycoveredwithintermixedshort

blackordarkbrownpubescenceandratherlongsilverypubescence;antennae,mouth-
partsandlegsreddishbrown;pronotumdenselycoveredwithblackpubescenceand
sparselysowithsilveryone(moredenselysoonlateralportions);eachelytronwith

Head vertjcal jn front,broader thanapicalmarginofpronotum; f「onSSlightly

convex,coarsely,denselypunctuate;eyeratherflat,innermarginwidelyemarginateby
foreheadandantennal insertion, the former ofwhich isprovidedwitha low ridge
reachinggena.Antennareachingthemiddleofelytra,segments2-5withblacksetae,
theratioofthelengthsofantennalsegmentsas follows:- 2.5:1:2.4:2.4:2.4:2.2:
2:1.8:1.6:1.5:1.5. Prothorax cylindrical,slightly longitudinal, about 1.1 times as
longaswide,themaximumwidthsituatedatbasal t/3;sidesdistinctlyroundedateach
middle; disc moderately convex above, and closely, coarsely, rugosely punctuate.
Scutellumtransverse,withacuminateapex,denselyandshallowlypuncture sparsely
clothedwithrecumbentsilverypubescence.Elytraelongate,about2.5timesaslongas
wide,nearlyparallel-side slightlybroaderthanpronota1base;discrather at,though
very slightly convex abovenear thebase; apicesobliquely truncate, outer angles
slightlypointed.Pygidiumparabolical thoughwidelyandroundlyexcavatedatapex.
Prosternumconvex,wrinkly,coarselypunctured. Mesosternumandmesepisternum
wrinkly, coarsely punctured. Metasternum sparsely, coarselypunctured. Legs long,
slender; femoraindistinctlyclavate,withahindpairreachingalittlebeyondelytraI
apices; tibiaethin,nearlystraight;metatarsielongate.Malegenitaliaas加ustrated;
dorsalplateofmedianlobethininlateral view,abruptlyattenuatebeforetheapex
whichisparabolicallyprojectedapicad.

boljca1withmoredeeplyexcavatedapex;dorsalplateofmedianlobeofmale9enitalia
apparentlythinnerwithprojectedapex;andsoon.
要 約
違藤一之:小笠原諸島産perissus属チビトラカミキリの1新種. - 小笠原諸島母島で江崎
功二郎氏が採取した枯れ枝から羽化脱出したトラカミキリ族の1種を検討したところ,新種で
あることが判明したので, perissusogasau,a,-ens,sという新名を与えて記載した. 本種は西南日
本に分布するキュゥシュウチビトラカミキリや沖縄本島から知られるオキナワチビトラカミキ
リにきわめてよく似た形態をしてぃるが,触角第4,5節の長さの比,腹部第8背板の形状, d交
尾器の形状等により区別できる.
