This new species can be readily separated fromseveral known related species by severalcombinationcharactersincluding the shape of cibariumin the female, the structure of female and male genitalia, the simplecocoon and the filamentsbranching in the pupa, and the severalcharactersof larva. Key words(cid:1) Diptera, Simuliidae, Simulium (Montisimulium), new species, Sichuan Province. (cid:1) (cid:1) Previous paper (Chen, Huang and Zhang, 2005) with distal 1/3 brown, andcovered with goldenhairs; reported two new species belonging to the subgenus all tibiae brown except median large portions of out Montisimulium from Sichuan Province, China. This surface which are pale, and covered golden hairs; all paper describes another new species, Simulium tarsi brown except basal 1/ 4 of hind basitarsus and (Montisimulium) jiajinshanense sp. nov. from same basal 1/2 of second tarsomere pale. Sternite 8 sparsely covered with golden recumbent hairs and dark with a lot of black hairs on each side. Anterior erect hairs; frontal ratio 8(cid:2)2(cid:2)6(cid:2)2(cid:2)6(cid:2)0; frons(cid:1)head gonapophyses triangular in shape, coveredwithseveral ratio8(cid:2)2(cid:2)33(cid:2)2. Clypeus with a few golden hairs as microsetae, inner margins widely separated. Genital well as dark hairs. Antenna composed of 2 + 9 fork with slender sclerotized stem; arm moderately segments, brownish black except first two segments wide, each with a strongprojectiondirected forwards. yellowish brown. Maxillary palp greyish brown, with Spermatheca ellipsoidal, sclerotized with reticulate 5segments in proportion of 2(cid:2)2(cid:2)2(cid:2)0(cid:2)7(cid:2)5(cid:2)5(cid:2)6(cid:2)13(cid:2)0; pattern.
