IsThereanAnglicanEucharisticTheology? IsthereanAnglicaneucharistictheologyandifsowhatisitsnature? This bookseekstoexploreandpromotedialogueonthisquestionthroughthe provisionof case studies of Anglican eucharistic theology and through contemporaryphilosophical reflection on the Anglican eucharistic tra- dition.Thisexplorationaimstoprovidegreaterintegrityforthediscourse of the Anglican eucharistic tradition, such that the discourse is really talking about whatit saysitis talking about. Insodoing thisbookalso aims at providing access to what many theologians, theological state- mentsandeucharisticliturgieshavesaidabouttheEucharistintheAngli- cantradition. Perhaps the answer to this specific question: ‘Is there an Anglican eucharistictheologyandifsowhatisitsnature?’canbestbeapproached by looking to the more general question of the nature of Anglicanism itself.JohnWhalearguesthatAnglicanismwillremainmultifarioussince “it taps multiple sources, in the present as in the past”1 with the main sources being scripture, tradition and reason. Each of these sources, arguesWhale, attractsitspartisans, whovalueonesourceovertheothers.
