This sale is an unrestricted Public Auction and Mail Bid Sale. All bids are to be entered by lot as numbered in this catalogue. Mail bidders should feel free to bid as much as they wish knowing that we will buy the lot, if possible, below their bid. Thousands of bidders to KATEN SALES can attest to this fact. 3. We make no other charges except the actual cost of mailing, insur- ance/registration. On books we charge 500 per lot (a book dealer now charges $2.00 per lot). When there is more than one book in a lot we use discretion, but never overcharge you. Minimum charge on books is $l.00. 4. Bidders unknown to us must send a deposit of 25% of their bids. References are useful for future bidding. 5. We reserve the right to reject any bid from any bidder when we deem a bid not made in good faith. Most dealers want dollar bids only - but we will accept bids with 50C. Minimum acceptable bid is $3.00 with increments of 50C. 6. Auction sales are not approval sales. By submitting your bids you agree to the terms of sale herewith set forth. No lot may be returned without written permission and request must be made within 5 days after receipt of material. Perhaps getting the American Numismatic Association 50 years gold membership medal got us thinking. We gave up the Retail Business three years ago and have been operating from home doing auctions. This sale No. 75 was just completed on our new computer Presario 866 which am trying to master aided and abetted by Laurese. I The main announcement is that Frank and Laurese Katen will be selling their library, one of the finest world libraries in existence. The sale will be in four parts. Part I, Sale No. 76 will consist of numismatic texts. Part two. Sale No. 77, will have numismatic Periodicals, Parts three and four. Sales Nos. 78 and 79 will consist of llnited States and World Auction Catalogues and Fixed Price Lists. The texts in Sale No. 76 are New, As New, or Very Fine unless noted otherwise. Over the years our advertising and auction sales featured Numismatic Literature. We generally purchased 5 or 10 copies to get the discount as members of the American Booksellers Association. One copy became the working copy and the second copy was placed in our library. At the suggestion of friends we will bind the four sales (5 if needed) into a handsome volume with their Prices Realized lists. The volumes will be numbered and limited to the number of subscribers. The price of this bound volume is $100.00. The date of Sale #76 is March 23,24, 1994; Sale #77, is dated March 25,26, 1994. The sales will be held in the COURTYARD Marriott, 1671 West Nursery Rd., Linthicum, Md (at the BWI Airport) and 5 miles from the Convention Center in Baltimore. Ifyou send $100.00 for the bound volume you will receive the four sales with their Prices Realized lists free of charge. Or you may order the two sales. Numbers 76 and 77 with Prices Realized Lists for $10.00. FRANK and LAURESE KATEN, P.O.
