As the President of the Kol Israel Foundation, the Association of
Holocaust Survivors in Cleveland, I am deeply honored to represent the
survivor community on this special occasion--the celebration of the 30-th •
•
Anniversary of our beloved organization.
The Kol Israel Foundation was established for the purposes of: a)
commemoration of the Holocaust and the development of a Holocaust legacy;
*
• b) support for Jewish life and culture in the U.S. and around the world;
and c) unconditional support for the State of Isreal.
We are extremely appreciative of the dedication and commitment of the
•I charter members, past and present officers, and all members of our
*
organization who developed, refined and supported the accomplishment of
the goals of our organization.
We can take pride in what we have accomplished to date. However, in
• light of the challenges which Jews and the State of Israel face from old •
and new enemies, we need to rededicate ourselves and continue to work for
and support the causes of our organization.

May God give years and strength for all of us here today
to be present at the celebration of our next anniversary.

It is my privilege to serve as the Kol Israel Sisterhood
President, and carry on the work of my predecessors.
The efforts of all of Kol Israel serve as tributes to the
millions of parents, siblings, family, teachers and friends
.. whose lights were extinguished at the hands of our modern day •
Amalek.
We must remember, but our memory is not enough. As
survivors, we must recreate the light of those we lost for our

• children and grandchildren, so that they can bear witness and •
take responsibility for gathering the sparks in their own
generation.
Our legacy is clear: We can survive only if we stand
together, and thrive only if we make Judaism and Jewish
.. communal life our first priority! •

OVER 10 YEARS REDEDICATES ITSELF TO THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE
• "LEGACY". · OUR ORGANINIZATION IS NOW 240 MEMBERS STRONG AND •
HAS "NEW BLOOD" IN ITS BOARD. THIS GUARANTEES A STRONG
ORGANIZATION OF CONTINUAL WORK BY YOUR CHILDREN IN REMEMBERING
YOUR DAYS OF TRAGEDY. WE PLEDGE TO MAKE OTHERS AWARE OF THE *
*HORRORS YOU ENDURED. WE PLEDGE TO EDUCATE OTHER SO YOUR
CHILDREN & THEIR CHILDREN WILL NEVER HAVE TO SUFFER BECAUSE
THEY WERE BORN JEWISH. YOUR CHILDREN PROMISE NOT TO FORGET
THAT MOST OF US NEVER GOT TO KNOW OUR GRANDPARENTS OR AUNTS,
