2018 CONTINUITY CAMPAIGN Let’s make history together MISSION STATEMENT Kohelet Yeshiva is a warm and embracing Modern Orthodox K-12 yeshiva day school committed to cultivating Bnei and Bnot Torah who think critically and creatively while exuding confidence and compassion. The Elementary and Middle School Divisions, known as Kohelet Yeshiva Lab School and Kohelet Yeshiva Middle School, are committed to utilizing replicable, empirically supported, student- centered methods of pedagogy in order to maximize learning for all students in both Judaic and General Studies and advance the field of Jewish Education. The High School division, known as Kohelet Yeshiva High School, builds on these foundations by nurturing the talents and potential of every student while equipping them with the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed and to lead in the best yeshivot and seminaries, the finest colleges and universities, and well beyond. DEAR FRIENDS, The past three years have been marked by breathtaking accomplishments and unrivaled growth at Kohelet Yeshiva. From the unprecedented acceptance rates of our high school graduates into yeshivot and universities, to the trailblazing approaches to student-centered learning showcased in our Lab School, the eyes of the community and eyes of the country have turned here to the greater Philadelphia area. As you well know success in the classroom is only half of the equation. The other half, and perhaps the harder half, is making that success sustainable so that it serves both our children of today and our children of tomorrow. That is the next challenge that we, as a community, must face. And that is the challenge I know, with your help, we will meet. We have been blessed with the extraordinary generosity of two families whose vision and confidence in our program has laid the foundation for our path to sustainability. Now it’s time for all of us — administrators, donors, parents, and friends — to step up and do ours. On behalf of our students today and our students of tomorrow I thank you for your partnership, I thank you for your generosity, and I look forward to what we will build together in the coming months and years. Sincerely yours, Rabbi Dr. Gil S. Perl Dear Friends of Kohelet, We are thrilled to announce a new era in Jewish education. Kohelet Yeshiva, the first Modern Orthodox K-12 Jewish day school in the Delaware Valley, is leading a new way to educate our children and impacting the entire Modern Orthodox world. Kohelet Yeshiva seeks excellence in both Judaic and general studies. We are committed to Eretz Yisrael and deeply supportive of Medinat Yisrael. Our comprehensive K-12 program utilizes progressive educational methods that draw on the latest technology-based curricular approaches. As a result, our children will emerge prepared to contribute globally in the 21st century. Our planned growth is ambitious: all grades are forcasted to be filled in five years, doubling our student body. Two visionary donors - the Kohelet Foundation and the Seligsohn family - have enabled Kohelet Yeshiva to create a model Jewish day school and, at the same time, lay the groundwork for a 10 year plan that promises long-term stability and financial security. The Kohelet Continuity Campaign is a critical element of this 10 year plan as the school needs to raise significant additional funds to support the expected growth and, more importantly, the outstanding academic programming that is the school’s DNA. As founding parents of our school, we are extremely proud of Kohelet’s progress and are committed to ensuring that the Yeshiva continues to thrive for generations to come. However, we need your help and investment to make this happen. Inside this packet, you will learn more about these exciting plans. We invite you to join us as we build and sustain Kohelet for our community and the future of Jewish education.
