POSTAL ORDERS
PACKAGING AND DISPATCH
Rose plants are wrapped in damp paper and the roots are sealed to maintain moisture. They are then
packaged in cardboard cartons and are sent via Australia Post. Roses transport extremely well.
When your roses arrive, undo and place them in a bucket of water for a few hours to rehydrate the
roots and reduce the stress on the plant before planting. Do not allow plants to dry out. To reduce
stress on new plants, make sure to give them a thorough watering when you have planted them.

Your order can be collected from the nursery 7 days a week from 9am to 5.30pm during June, July

Hello Green Thumbs, Autumn 2018
Welcome to our 2018 Winter Rose Catalogue for dormant bare rooted plants.
It’s hard to believe that this season we celebrate the 25th Birthday of Spring Park Nursery, what
started out with a few benches in the bush with Chris propagating plants in small 5inch pots with
plant material collected from family members gardens 30 years ago. Chris was just 12 years old
and had monthly plant sales while he was still at Secondary school, he advertised in the school
newsletter and local paper. Continuing to study Horticulture and with the backing of us, his
parents we registered the business of Spring Park Nursery and the three of us set about planting
rose gardens and developing the range of plants that we grow.
25 years is along time to have a passion of growing plants for the local climate and over
the years we have produced thousands of plants in our first year of selling roses we had 135
varieties which many are planted in the gardens today. To give you an idea of just how many
plants we have handled over the years in one year alone we potted 32,000 roses and currently we
produce around 10,000 plants per year not including the roses.
Though the bad drought years we had to cart water and most plant lines we could not
grow as roses were our specialty and got first preference. Today we try and keep a blend of stock
in the nursery with roses and lots of interesting plants.
This year we have 248 varieties for the winter bare rooted season and there are many
great new releases once agin this season. The rose featured on our cover is Fire Opal and going
to its debut unveiling I heard comments that its like Sally Holmes but Gorgeous! I think it will
make a great showy rose and one that will be sure to please the lovers of the older style blooms.
This season we see the fantastic new ‘Climbing Future’ rose which is fragrant and white
and is the ideal rose for all the gardeners who are looking for a good white but are sick of
‘Iceberg’ as there are not that many white climbing roses that are on the market these days.
Another great climbing rose is ‘Salmon Scentsation’ with it’s deep pink well shaped blooms and
rich fragrance.
In the new release bush roses there are many older styles of blooms with varieties having
quartered blooms similar to the popular David Austin English roses such as ‘Bellisimo Mum’,
‘Fairytale Magic’, ‘Dream Chaser’, Garden of Roses’, ‘Nelson Monfort’ and ‘Per-fyoom
Perfume’ which the last one may take us awhile to get use to saying the varieties name.
David Austin has two new varieties this season with ‘Thomas Becket’ with warm
carmine blooms and the creamy apricot ‘The Lard Gardener’ which is sure to please and enhance
any garden.
For the traditional gardeners that love the well shaped blooms there is the
‘Unconventional Lady’ a warm pink, ‘Baby Shower’ a bi colour magenta and pink rose with
cream and the the soft glowing blooms of the fragrant ‘Governor Marie Bashir’

A new addition for 2018 is the showy ‘Candy Eyes’
with clusters of single blooms in a deep metallic pink
with a dark burgundy eye on this new addition to the
Eye Opener Rose Collection. This variety has a
great display of blooms held above dark green

Apricot Clementine

Garden Of Roses

cream at the edges on this new variety with old
world charm and grace. Blooms are of a medium
old rose fragrance and are freely produced in
clusters on a strong disease resistant plant with

Internationally this great new variety has won

pink which have multiple petals and a sweet intense
