Since being named president, he has been instrumental in the growth of the college. A few of the accolades include the celebration of Holmes’ 9 0 th anniversary, the opening of the new location in Yazoo City, the opening of the Attala Center in K osciusko, and the purchase of the former fitness lady- as well as prime I-5 5 highway access- to expand the Ridgeland Campus territory. He is 1 9 9 7 Holmes graduate, an active member of the community, as well as an outdoor enthusiast and avid golfer. Dr. Haffey and his wife Rae Anne, a pharmacist at Howell and Heggie Drug Co. in Durant, Mississippi, have two children; Hayley and Hudson who attend Central Holmes Christian School in L exington. “ It struck me the other day, that my children are fifth generation Holmes Countians.” Dr. Haffey said. “ It is very meaningful to my children and me, that they can trace their heritage back to our nine-county district. My children travel with my wife and me, but at the end of the day, always want to come back home to this community. I want the same for our students here at Holmes Community College.
