Spectacular Spectacular 1 ADDYbook_2016.indd 1 2/9/16 11:33 AM IT WILL BE... SPECTACULAR, SPECTACULAR! NO WORDS OF THE VERNACULAR CAN DESCRIBE THIS GREAT EVENT! YOU’LL BE DUMB WITH WONDERMENT! 2 2016 American Advertising Awards ADDYbook_2016.indd 2 2/9/16 11:33 AM Welcome to the 2016 American Advertising Awards, Spectacular Spectacular!, presented by AAF - Tallahassee. Reflective of the Bohemian movement in Paris, this year’s theme celebrates the rise of the creative class and its commitment to artistic expression in every form. And, of course, having a little fun in the process! AAF - Tallahassee’s American Advertising Awards is the first level of a three-tiered awards program, and is our organization’s largest event of the year. It requires a tremendous, coordinated effort by many volunteers, members and students. I’d like to thank the amazing group that helped make tonight possible: Co-Chairs: Kiera Hanselman, Federated Media Nathalie Nagamine, FSU Student and Giavona “G” Williams, Sachs Media Group Erin Pace, Lily & Sushi Design Co. Dave Barfield, Lonely Fox Photography Chirag Shah, CPS23 Marketing Adam Braun, Frame Raquel Simon-Petley, BowStern Marketing and Kristin Carlton, FSU Office of Distance Learning Communications Julia Causseaux, Lamar Advertising Tod Thomas, United Way of the Big Bend Dre Grant, Compass Marketing & Consulting Alison Voorhees, Capital City Bank Steven Leacock, Leacock Design Co. Ashlee Weber, Moore Communications Group Special recognition goes to our judges, Andy Gosendi of Anton West, Vicki Mills of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the Central Savannah River Area, and Charles Rosenberger of MLB Creative, who donated both their time and talents to make the difficult decisions of selecting this year’s ADDY® winners. We also want to thank our “Baz Luhrmann” Sponsors of Spectacular Spectacular!, CPS23 Marketing and Sachs Media Group, and our “From Paris With Love” Sponsor, Capital City Bank, as well as our many in-kind sponsors who contributed to this event. Please make sure to thank them for their generosity! And last, but certainly not least, thank you to our Silver Medal Committee for their dedication to AAFT and our industry. We appreciate your ongoing support, and your diligence and deliberation every year in selecting the Silver Medal recipient, our club’s highest honor. It has been my pleasure to serve as the 2015 - 2016 AAFT President, and I’m extremely proud of what our Board has accomplished in eight short months. I hope you’ll continue to join us for our monthly Speaker Series Luncheons, and look for more information on Ad Help Day, coming in the Spring. I hope you enjoyed your evening and I look forward to seeing you at a future event!
