CATALOGUE OF RESULTS 2015 BEEF CATTLE COMPETITION Conducted by The Beef Cattle Competition provides breeders with the opportunity to benchmark their stock and celebrate excellence in beef cattle breeding, with more than 600 cattle shown over 11 days of Show. The Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle Competition has a specific emphasis on delivering an exceptional exhibitor experience, with the highest calibre of judges, exhibitor facilities and results technology. The Beef Cattle Competition continues to grow and is fast becoming the key event to attend in the annual agricultural calendar. PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE EXPLANATION WHEREAS The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria Ltd has agreed to effect a Public Liability insurance for certain Animal Exhibitors at the 2015 Royal Melbourne Show, the following applies: Insured Party: Animal and Livestock Exhibitors participating in competitions and events Period of Insurance: From seven days prior to the Show until seven days thereafter. Insured Activities: All activities undertaken whilst within and from the confines of the event venue consistent with the Insured’s livestock exhibit activity including setting up and removal Description of Cover: Insurance in respect of the Insured Party’s liability to pay costs and compensation in respect of loss of or damage to third party property and death of or injury to third party persons caused by and arising out of the Insured activities, all subject to the RASV’s policy terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties, etc. Amount of Cover: $10,000,000 any one occurrence Deductible: $10,000 any one occurrence Geographic Limits: At and from the event venue Claims Payable: Worldwide excluding claims made USA and Canada Insurer(s): Primary - $10,000,000 Lloyds of London Address: Lloyd;s Australia Ltd., Suite 2, Level 21 Angel Place, 123 Pitt Street, Sydney, NSW, 2000. Policy Numbers: PC0232214 IMPORTANT CONDITIONS 1. The Insured Party must exercise reasonable care to maintain all premises, fittings and plant in sound condition. 2. The Insured Party must take all reasonable precautions to prevent injury and damage to persons and property. 3. The Insured Party must give immediate notice of an incident which may give rise to a claim or of receipt of advice of a claim. 4. The Insured Party must not make any admission, offer or promise in connection with any claim and must not any time admit liability. 5. The Insured Party must make themselves aware of and comply with the following Notices:- Duty of Disclosure: Before you enter into a contract of General insurance with an insurer, you have a duty, under the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 as amended, to disclose to the insurer every matter that you know, or could reasonably be expected to know, is relevant to the insurer's decision whether to accept the risk of the insurance and, if so, on what terms. You have the same duty to disclose these matters to the insurer before you renew, extend, vary or reinstate a contract of General insurance. Your duty however, does not require disclosure of matter: * that diminishes the risk to be undertaken by the insurer * that is of common knowledge * that your insurer knows or, in the ordinary course of his business, ought to know. Non-Disclosure: If you fail to comply with your duty of disclosure, the insurer may be entitled to reduce his liability under the contract in respect of a claim or may cancel the contract. If your non-disclosure is fraudulent, the insurer may also have the option of avoiding the contract from its beginning. Average Provision: The insurer will pay legal expenses in addition to the sum insured, if however, the total amount of the loss (less legal expenses) ultimately paid to the claimant(s) exceeds the sum insured then insurers will only pay (in addition to the sum insured) that proportion of the legal expenses as the sum insured bears to the loss. Third Party Interests: This policy will only provide cover for your interest and does not cover the interests of any third party (e.g. financiers, lessors, etc) unless the interests of the third party are noted in the policy. Waiver of Insurer's Rights: You must not enter into any agreement without the written authority of the insurer whereby any of their rights to which they become entitled as your insurer after settling or agreeing to settle a claim are prejudiced or limited in any way otherwise all benefit under the policy will be forfeited. NOTE: 1. All enquiries to be referred to Arthur J Gallagher: Telephone No: (02) 9424 1888 2. CLAIMS (a) No admission of liability or fault may be made in any form to a claimant. To do so may breach the policy conditions and enable insurers to avoid settlement. (b) Any notice of a potential or actual claim must be referred immediately to Arthur J Gallagher. 3. Nothing herein shall be construed to alter in any way the scope of insurance policy, its terms, conditions or exclusions, issued by insurers. 4. RASV is not liable to the Insured Party in the event a claim is not paid or payable by Insurers unless RASV fails to take reasonable steps to advise that the cover is or is likely to be cancelled or not renewed. 5. RASV is not an Australian Financial Services (AFS) Licence holder. RASV is not providing financial product advice, has not considered the particular needs of the Insured party and no statement is intended to influence a person or persons making a decision in relation to any insurance cover. You should consider obtaining your own financial product advice from a person holding the appropriate AFS licence. 6. THIS INSURANCE ONLY APPLIES TO INSURED PARTIES ENTERING COMPETITION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GENERAL REGULATIONS. Together with his wife Penny, they established the Raven Limousin – LimFlex Peter Falls with his children Andrea, Lachlan and Suzanne along with Stud in 2008 with their first bull sale held in 2013. Peter’s mother Yvonne operate Malton Shorthorns on three properties at Finley and Hay. They also operate an Australian wide Livestock Jason has judged at various country shows in South Australia, transport business. Coonalpyn, Murray Bridge, Millicent and Strathalbyn 2010 to 2013. He judged the Beef Section of the Wagin/Woolarama Show in Western In 2014 Peter judged at the Royal Melbourne Show: Lowlines and Australia in 2014 and in 2015 he was judge at the Angus Youth Round Murray Greys; the Wodonga National Whiteface Show and Sale and Up in Wodonga. the Royal Canberra Show: Steers on the Hoof and Murray Greys. In 2013 Peter was a judge at the Royal Melbourne Show: Shorthorns; the Peter Sykes – Beef Shorthorn, Australian Shorthorn and Dubbo Shorthorn National Show and Sale and at the Sydney Royal Shorthorn Competitions Easter Show as judge of the Feature Breed: Charolais. In 2012 he was the Judge at the Sydney Royal Easter Show for Red Angus and Red Polls. In 2011 he judged the Charolais Breed at the Royal Peter Sykes is the Principal of Mawarra Herefords and is the Current Melbourne Show and also the Murray Grey National Show and Sale. Director on the Board of Herefords Australia and Chairman of the Peter has also judged at the Geelong Royal and Country Shows Marketing sub-committee. Peter is an active member of the Hereford around Australia. National Show & Sale Committee (Wodonga) for over thirteen years and is also a past President of the Gippsland Hereford Group. Erica Halliday – Poll Hereford, Hereford, Australian Lowline and Speckle Parks Competitions In 2012, Peter presided over the Hereford National Show & Sale (Dubbo). In 2013 Peter travelled to New Zealand and adjudicated at the Royal Show, Fielding. Other Judging experience includes: Erica Halliday has judged most recently the 2015 Sydney Royal Easter Geeliong Royal 2014, Hereford National Show & Sale, Sydney, Show, 2014 Ekka, 2012 Ekka and many Royal and state Shows. Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne Royal Shows. Erica is part of the family team at Ben Nevis, established in 1947, one of Australia’s oldest, performance recorded Studs, renowned for Award Jack Woodburn – Charolais, Belted Galloway and Galloway Winning Angus, and commitment to youth in the beef industry. Competitions A family business spanning three generations, the stud is backed by a large commercial herd in Walcha NSW supplying quality beef to the Jack Woodburn has a rich history in the industry, once being a stud Jap B3 and heavy grass-fed markets. The business sells 50-100 breeder of Ayrshire & Angus cattle as well as Texel sheep. He owned yearling bulls a year, and in excess of 300 heifers. and ran Arisaig Angus until 2004. His judging experience includes 2015 Beef Week Heifer Challenge, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra Royal Shows. Jack has judged at the Royal Highland Show – Jason Schulz – Angus and Red Angus Competitions Scotland, the Royal English Show – Stoneleigh and the Great Yorkshire Show. As a former stud breeder and still working as an Jason is actively involved in the beef industry, volunteering his time to agent and a judge, he has had plenty of experience with both sheep judge beef cattle and contributing to industry committees and and cattle. Jack retired in 2004 however continued on as a Stock & organisations. Jason is the current South Australian Limousin Station Agent/Auctioneer and now keeps Australian Stock horses on Chairperson and has recently been announced as the 2015 Rabobank farm as a hobby. Young Beef Ambassador. Sharyn Wright – Red Poll, South Devon, Blonde d’Aquitaine, Jason holds an impressive array of industry titles and responsibilities. Highland, Santa Gertrudis and Maine Anjou Competitions He was previously the state chairperson for Angus Youth, a committee member of the SA Angus Committee and has competed in various junior judging competitions. He won the National Angus Youth Junior After becoming an accredited judge with the Angus Society of Australia Judging Competition in 2006 which awarded him a scholarship to at the age of 17, Sharyn Wright has judged at many Royal Shows, study with the University of Illinois and a place on its intercollegiate including Melbourne, Launceston, Hobart and Geelong Shows, meat judging team touring the USA in 2007. including Feature Shows and Interbreeds.
