In the not so distant future, you will be walking out the front doors of East Windsor High School forever...BE CAREFUL! BE PREPARED! BE READY! Imagine for one moment that just outside our doors is a swift moving stream or conveyer belt that you did not know existed. Imagine the surprise and bewilderment you would feel as soon as your feet made contact. You would be swept off your feet and taken in an unknown path and direction. Not until you were able to get your bearings, would you be able to identify, at the very least, the direction you were traveling. It could be argued that walking out of the front doors of high school, in general, leads many young adults to be swept off their feet simply because they were unprepared for life after high school. The world that you are about to inherit is In the midst of economic dysfunction and uncertainty. This fact alone ôuld give you cause and purpose to define your destinations after high school. Tt is ray belief that you are well prepared for this ftiture. You have been exposed to a high quality education where the expectations for all students included having strong content knowledge and understanding, becoming effective communicators and excellent problem solvers, knowing and understanding diversity awareness and being able to integrate technology into school and life. It is my expectation that you will be able to make the appropriate decisions which lead to your future experiences, whether it Is college, military service or immediately joining Connecticut's work force. We, at East Windsor High, have prepared you for the swift changes that are about to'occur and feel you have all the tools necessary to "...go instead where there is no path and leave a trail"...we wish you well blazing your own personal trail and know you will accomplish all you set out to do. Lone Watie Dedication w 4 ’ ^ The Class of 2009 would like to dedicate their yearbook to Mr. John Nahas, a gem of a math teacher and an overall honest and outgoing person. Mr. Nahas is a cherished part of EWHS. His enthusiastic encouragement shows that he truly cares about each one of his students, inside, as well as outside of schooi. He also teaches some extremely important iessons that you would not necessarily learn in any other class, such as: what not to buy your wife for Christmas, why orange is the worst color ever, how watching a wood chipper is actuaiiy soothing & other 'stuff iike that'. On a more serious note, Mr. Nahas continuaily stresses the need for us to beiieve in ourselves and stand up for what we think is right as we enter the next phase of’ our lives.
