Now the same race winning technology is a vailable to y ou. Sailkote is a n easy to apply, high-tech, translucent liquid that sprays or wipes on and completely dries in seconds to a h ard, smooth, ultra-slick, hydrophobic surface. One application makes sails, hulls, rigging, deck hardware, and anything that moves on your boat run smoother, work more efficiently, and last longer than you ever thought possible. And, unlike oils, silicones, and waxes, it w ill never attract dirt, water or contaminants that eventually seriously degrade lubrication performance. So, whether you re just out day sailing, cruising, or trying to win the race of y our life, Sailkote will make a significant improvement in y our boat and crew performance. But don’t take our word for it, l isten to what these world class sailors have to say about Sailkote: ‘'Saiikote was one of the main ingredients in the success of our 1996 J/24 campaign. We coated nearly everything on the boat including the entire mast and mainsail track, spreader tips, genoa, forestay, mainsail, all blocks and travelers. " C hris Larson (1 996 J/24 World Champion). During the 1995 America's Cup, “Young America” was coated from her masthead instruments right down to the bottom of her keel. At the " Young America " compound we had literally hundreds of uses for Team McLube's Sailkote!" John Marshall (President of PACT 95). From what I've been told, no other area in the United States puts together a sailing calendar as complete as this one. In fact, I've never seen any other sailing calendar that lists as many sailing events as we do. This year, there are almost 600 listings in the calendar sponsored by more than 200 different yacht clubs and sailing organizations. Of these, YRA runs about 40 races. While YRA doesn't have to include any other events on the calendar except our own, we compile the rest as a courtesy to our member clubs and to all you racers who want to know what is happening on the water. ir It d oesn't matte r w hat type of boat you have ■ - a get-up-and-go lightweight flyer or a tradi¬ m tional deep-keeled kelp-catcher - there is a in race somewhere on these pages suited for you. Since we all live and sail in one of the most picturesque places in the world, I o ffer you a challenge. Thumb through the calen¬ dar and pick out one or two races that you've 4 * never done before. Then go out and race them. You will make new sailing friends and Glenda Carroll, Yacht Racing Association Fort Mason, San Francisco, CA 94123 visit new yacht clubs.
