The Archive The Yearbook of East Windsor High School Senior Editor : Jennifer L. Haines Junior Editor : David Joseph In Loving Memory • • • We would like to dedicate this yearbook to someone very special that was taken from us on May 11, 1991. This cute and fun loving person always had something to say to make us laugh in times when we needed him. Mark was a very talented athlete with high aspirations, and if he were here today, his biggest goal would be to play with the Washington Redskins. We all know that Mark is in a special place, and even though we would rather have him with us, we know that he is in good hands. Mark holds a place in every heart that he touched, and will never be forgotten. We love you and miss you, the class of ’94. 2 To Our Advisors MR. CROFT AND MS. DRAKE: These past four years have been filled with excitement as well as disappointment for many of us, but through it all, you lent a helping hand to anyone of us who needed it. Our meetings may not have always run smoothly, but they were always fun, and we may not have always gotten everything done on time, but it did get done (usually because you wouldn’t leave us alone until it did). After our freshman year, with such a pitiful pep rally, followed in the spring by just as good of a sports day, we’re surprised that you didn’t give up. To Mr. Croft, someday we will have a “SUNDAE FUND AY,” and to Ms. Drake, we’ll finally stop giving you gray hair. You’ve both stayed with us and through the years we have proven to be somewhat dependable, but always able to laugh, and we hope that we have also made you proud of what we have accomplished and that you will never forget us. We both got lucky on this deal, we got the best advisors in the school, and you got the best class in the school. THE CLASS OF 1994 MS. DRAKE MR. CROFT I 4 Class History The class of 1994 began freshman year feeling a little clueless. Our class was led by President James Barton; Vice President Claudia Rasmussen; Secretary Jennifer Myers; and Treasurer Amy Slate. Our pep rally theme was “U Can’t Touch Us” and, despite great dancing from Khamp, we finished last. Our freshman year was an interesting one, with the induction of Channel 1 to East Windsor and with the breakout of the Persian Gulf War. This was also a sad year as we mourned the loss of our friend and junior high classmate, Mark McKeever. Our sophomore year class officers were President Claudia Rasmussen; Vice President Jennifer Myers; Secretary Jessica Pillion; Treasurer Amy Slate; and Historian Jennifer Callahan. Our luck from the previous pep rally carried through to this year as we placed last with our ‘‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Panthers” theme. If you don’t remember this skit, it’s probably because hardly anyone from our class was there to see it, which really wasn’t a bad thing. This year we received our class rings from Balfour. In the news, sophomore year was an Olympic year, remember Kristi Yamaguchi and the Dream Team? This year also saw the end of communism in the Soviet Union. Things really began to look up for our class during our junior year. The pep rally was abolished, so we couldn’t lose another one. Our class officers were President Amy Slate; Vice President Victoria Peck; Secretary Jennifer Myers; Treasurer Katie Clark; and Historian Jennifer Callahan. The Junior Prom was held on June 4, 1993 at Mill on the river in South Windsor. The end of our junior year saw the end of the girls’ field hockey team and the beginning of the girls’ soccer team, and the introduction of other co-op sports. Important events in the news included the election of President Bill Clinton and the Chicago Bull ‘‘three-peat.” The class of 1994 began our senior year (finally!) led by President Amy Slate; Vice President Victoria Peck; Secretary Jennifer Myers; Treasurer Katie Clark; and Historian Jennifer Callahan. Our first activity was our semi-successful magazine drive. Our Senior Banquet was held on June 3, 1994 at the Sheraton Hotel at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks. The senior class outing was held at the traditional High Meadows in Granby. After graduation in LATE June, the members of the class of 1994 went their own separate ways, with their own separate dreams, all looking forward to that first class reunion. 6
