Acknowledgments
My thanks first and foremost go to Chip MacGregor at Alive Com-
munications for giving me the opportunity to take on this project. I
also wish to acknowledge the fact that Steve Rabey resisted whatever
temptation he might have experienced to get even with me, since I
once edited his work. Instead, he graciously suggested several ideas
that improved the book, and he and Lois capably ushered the man-
uscript through the initial editing process.
As always, I need to thank my longsuffering family, especially a
daughter who once asked me in exasperation, “Are you ever going to
get one of those income jobs?” Working from home does have a
drawback or two. I love having my family nearby as I’m writing,
though I can’t say they feel the same way. Still, they take good care
of me, if only out of pity.
