ATOD prevention education, information dissemination, and alternative activities are interwoven into these programs. The type of prevention provided varies from program to program. Except for Summer Day Camp, all programs are free. Homework Helpfuls are after school tutoring/mentoring programs at Fulton, Lemington, and Lincoln elementary schools. Elementary Recreation/Club are after school recreation/mentoring programs with lessons for Fulton and Lincoln elementary schools students. Middle School Recreation is an after school recreation/mentoring program for middle school students, primarily (but not exclusively) those who attend Reizenstein or Arsenal middle schools. Centers for Academic Reinforcement are after school tutoring/mentoring programs at Peabody and Westinghouse high schools through most of the school year. High School Recreation is an after school recreation/mentoring program for high school students, primarily (but not exclusively) those who attend Peabody and Westinghouse high schools. ExtraOrdinary Tutoring is an after school one-to-one tutoring/mentoring program for students of all ages who live in the East End of Pittsburgh. Female Youth Outreach is separate after school leadership development/mentoring programs for female middle and high school students who exhibit leadership potential. A Step Closer is a separate in school prevention/intervention programs for at risk female students at Reizenstein Middle School, Peabody High School and Westinghouse High School. Students are referred to this program by school personnel. Youth Club is a club/mentoring program with lessons for elementary, middle, and high school students. This program is located in Penn Hills. 2 Hoop It UP is an annual multiple round basketball tournament for elementary, middle, and high school students that is held in the spring. JobLink is a job readiness training and employment program for approximately twenty high school students residing in the East End. Students are placed in part-time after school jobs with business, agencies, and institutions of high learning. Youth Business Initiative is a weekly job readiness/entrepreneur training/mentoring program for ten high school students residing in the East End. Take Our Sons/Daughters to Work Days are separate days on which male and female middle and high school students who live in the East End are matched with mentors working in fields in which the students express interest. Summer Day Camp is a five-week program for children and youth ages 5 – 16. It includes Life Learning classes, recreation, and field trips. Teenagers (14 – 18 years old) are trained and employed as junior counselors and support staff for the camp.
