MEETING MINUTES JANUARY 20, 2016 Members in Attendance: Beverley Bevilacqua, Cynthia DeAngelis, Kerrie Fallon, Susan James, Michael Rademacher, Maureen St. Hilaire, Members Absent: Patrick Quinn, Susan Savage Tenant Others Present: Darcy Devney, Advocate, Christopher Ellinger, Director True Story Theatre, Six performers of the True Story Theatre, Jack Jones, ADA Coordinator. Handicapped Parking on Massachusetts Avenue: Darcy Devney discussed a warrant article that had been reviewed by Town Council pertaining to handicapped parking. Michael Rademacher expressed concern as to how the location of handicapped parking spaces would be decided. Cynthia DeAngelis said that the warrant article regarding handicapped parking is a resolution and not a binding article. Darcy said that the Selectmen would need to give final approval of any increase in the number and location of additional handicapped parking spaces. Darcy said that 565 parking spaces exist in Arlington Center with 19 being handicapped accessible. Darcy said that she has the ten signatures necessary to submit the warrant article herself, but felt that it would be more appropriate for the Commission to submit the warrant article. The Commission voted to support the warrant article as written. True Story Theatre: The True Story Theatre which promotes social healing by inviting individuals to share their stories and then spontaneously transform them into theatre. Commission members told stories from their lives and watched them enacted on the spot by True Story Theatre Performers. Christopher Ellinger discussed with the Commission concerns regarding the following. Regular meeting attendance, forming subcommittee’s, the process to orientate new members, and having a secretary Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 6:10 P.M.
