Academic Reforms and Ins(cid:415)tute Development This year we have started with many academic and examina(cid:415)on reforms. We brought more flexibility in the curric- ulum by the introduc(cid:415)on of Interdisciplinary Elec(cid:415)ves in the Third and Fourth Year. Students from one branch can now take subject from other branches. In order to provide industrial exposure during the gradua(cid:415)on we made a provision of one-semester project work during 8th Semester. This year 67 students went to different Industries for their final year project. To have exposure to select students to different learning environments we have made the Provision of op(cid:415)on for one-semester credit Transfer through Academic Linkage with other pres(cid:415)gious Ins(cid:415)tutes. Now third year students can be exchanged with other colleges like IIT, VJTI, SP College Mumbai, COE, Pune, SGG- SIT, Nanded, DBATU, Lonere, other IITs and NITs for one semester. We have restructured academic year in to Two Major Semesters and One small Summer Term. In June and July now students can go to industries for Internship, or they can take online courses from IITs, NPTEL, or MOOCs, etc. or they can take Mini Projects. Students with backlog will be re-taught those subjects and then they will appear for Make-up examina(cid:415)on. We have also increased our associa(cid:415)on with Industries by signing MOU with Industries like, John Deere, Danfoss, Tata Technologies, SandRiver Technologies, Mentor Graphics, NASSCOM, etc. from India and Agile Developer, USA. With Tata Technologies, Pune we are running courses in 3D PLM for students. John Deere from Pune has supported in developing ‘Advanced Research Centre in Embedded Design’ to assign live industrial projects for stu- dents. Danfoss, Chennai has donated 32 Cut sec(cid:415)ons of various RAC products in the Mechanical Engineering De- partment.
