In the classroom, she has taught almost every Science course at WHS, including Biology, AP Biology, Earth Science, Astronomy, Chemistry, Anatomy, Biotechnology, and Forensic Biotechnology. Mrs. Martell is probably best known for her engaging Forensic Biotechnology class where students solve a fake crime by analyzing a crime scene, evaluating blood and evidence, and asking witnesses questions. In addition to her career as a Science teacher, she has been the advisor of the Local Heroes Club since 2011, which works to honor local servicemen and women. Because of her hard work and dedication, the group has received multiple awards, and has been recognized in local and state ceremonies. Thank you, Mrs. Martell, and best wishes in your retirement! In life there are many paths, some of which you will follow and some of which you will forge. During your time here af WHS | have seen you attempt both. Whether your paths are about the academics, the athletics, or the arts, | hope that any path you have followed or forged has led to happiness. | remember many of you as ninth graders and, as | always do when a new class enters the building, | wonder how you will navigate high school. It has been a journey, one that | hope has brought you some joy. You have brought me joy on so many occasions, sometimes just by your warm smiles and pleasant hellos as we pass each other in the halls or when | am visiting your classes.
