Brighter scientists and better engineers are expected from Tallinn University of Technology as the economic growth can be achieved most of all by technical scientists and their novel technologies invented by them. TUT is ready to provide compre- hensive excellence, including in economics and social sciences, on state, local government and business level. The development dynamics of TUT has been one of the best among Estonian universi- ties during the last decade, we also hope to develop into one of the most successful universities of technology in the Baltic Sea region. It is in the interest of our state to coordinate a closer cooperation between the universities of Estonia, to develop common curricula, doctoral studies and research centres of excellence. In long term perspectives, it is important to develop common curricula with universities abroad with the aim of enhancing internationalisation of the university. TUT supports the regional development of Estonia through its colleges and emerging centres of excellence. Through the core of the largest university of Tallinn and the research campus of Technopolis TUT is also responsible for the welfare of the capital of Estonia. We hope to continue full cooperation with all our partners, focusing on new opportunities and development of partnerships. We invite all interested parties to explore the increas- ing opportunities of TUT! Welcome to TallinnTech! 9 FOREwORD by Chairman of the Board of TUT Student Union Mr Rait Rohi 10
