Amy's Wedding Day
As a fresh layer of snow fell Amy could not help but stare. Her heart was swelling with love as every single snowflake seemed to settle perfectly into place. She had been planning her wedding for what seemed like years, and finally, the day was upon her. She did not have the nervousness that some brides had; she was not worried about the whole day being a disaster. She simply knew that by the end of the day she would finally be married to the man of her dreams. It was Christmas Eve and all of her friends and family had already arrived. The new layer of snow made the whole world look pure and picturesque.
I'm Sleeping Forever!
Amy fell asleep on her bed and it was not until sunset that anyone woke her. It was about the time the ceremony would have been over. When her father gently roused her she at first thought she had overslept, but the sadness in his eyes reminded her of all that had happened. She sighed and rolled over.
Could Things Get Any Worse!
The next morning her bags were packed and she was ready to go. She did not necessarily want to go, but she let her father drive her to the airport.
Smug Friends
The conversation with Oliver was tense as Ben slowly unravelled his friend's plan.
More than a little
The next morning Amy awoke to the scent of coffee. Ben had woken up early and requested fresh coffee and scones, along with a bouquet of flowers. He had arranged the meal carefully, and then waited patiently for Amy to wake up. When she slowly opened her eyes she was greeted by the sight of the flowers, the food, and Ben holding out a chair for her. Amy smiled as she started to climb out of bed until she realized that she was dressed only in her silky nightgown. She had never been shy about her body before, but it had been many years since Ben had seen it. She knew that it had changed and suspected he might find her less desirable. Then she firmly reminded herself that she was not going to let a man dictate what she did or did not feel comfortable with any more. Why should she care what Ben's opinion of her body was? Boldly she strode across the room toward him. Ben's expression was impossible to hide as his gaze trailed over her enticing figure. He had to avert his gaze as he was sure that she could sense how much he longed for her. Amy smirked slyly as she settled into the chair across from him. The crimson blush in his cheeks was a dead giveaway, she knew him too well, not to know that he enjoyed what he saw.
And That's That!
That evening Ben and Amy met for dinner in a restaurant just outside of the resort. It was well known for its gourmet food and Amy was looking forward to sampling a little bit of everything. As they sat across from each other reaching for different items on the plate they shared, their hands kept grazing against each other. Every time their skin touched, Amy felt a shower of sparks flood her body. After so many hours spent getting to know their minds and bodies again, it felt strange not to have much to say.
