No. 32/2008— In accordance with the provision under Section 63 of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2000, r/w Rule 49 (2) of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Orissa Rules, 2002, the Special Juvenile Police Units are constituted in the following 6 (six) districts for exercising the powers and discharging the duties conferred on them under this Rule. 2. The Special Juvenile Police Units shall observe such Rules and Procedure in regard to the transaction of business as prescribed under the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Orissa Rules, 2002. 4. The Special Juvenile Police Units may take the assistance of recognised voluntary organisations, which will help them in identifying juveniles and helping the juveniles/children under the said Act/Rule. 5. The Special Juvenile Police Units shall have a tenure of three years and the appointment of the members shall be coterminous with the tenure of the Special Juvenile Police Units. 6. Any Social Worker may resign by giving one month’s advance notice in writing to the W. & C. D. Department. 7. The appointment of any Member of the Unit may be terminated after holding enquiry by the State Government if — (a) he/she has been found guilty of misuse of duty vested under this Act; (b) he/she has been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude, and such conviction has not been reversed or he/she has not been granted full pardon in respect of such offence; (c) he/she fails to attend the duty for consecutive 3 months without any valid reason.
