Inthepresentstudy, Iamgoingtodescribeanewspeciesofelateridbeetlefrom Central Japan, to dedicate it to thelateDr. MasatakaSAT0, oneof the leading coleoptero1ogistsinJapan. Theholotypeofthenewtaxontobedescribedinthispaper isPreservedinthecollectionoftheNationalScienceMuseum(Nat.Hist),Tokyo. Beforegoingfurther,IwishtoexpressmysinceregratitudetoDr.Shun-lobiUtNo of the National Science Museum (Nat. Hist), Tokyo, for his reading the original manuscriptandgivingmeusefulsuggestions. Vestitureblack on dorsum, paler and semidecumbent on ventralsurfaces. Headgentlyconvexbetweeneyes,flattenedonsubverticalportionbetweenanten- nae(Fig.1B);surfacemoderatelydenselyandevenlypunctate(Fig. 1B个);clypea1 mar9inwellridgedoverantennalinsertions,depressedandobtuselyangulateatmiddle (Fig. 1B n . Antenna short, not attaining toposterior angleof pronotum; basal Segment robust andoblong-ovate, 2nd small andsubg1obose, 3rdsubtriangular and about12timesaslongas2nd,4thalittlelonger than2ndand3rdtakentogether (Fig. 1F); 4th to10thdistinctlyserrate. (A.)orientalis(LEWIS,1894) fromJapan,but canbedistinguished fromthelatterbythenarrowerbody,blackpubescenceonthe dorsum,smallerandsparserpuncturesonthediscofpronotum,anddifferentshapeof malegenitalia. 要約大平仁夫: 日本産コメツキムシ科の新種, L. - 本報告では, コメッキムシ科の1新種のA. (A)masatakai (マサタカアカコメツキ) を記載した. 一般外形はA.orientalis(LEWIS,1894) (アカコメッキ) にきわめてよく類似しているが, 体の両側はより平行状を呈し, 体背面は黒色毛を生じて光沢を有する. また, 前胸背板上は平滑で, 点刻はより小型でよりまばらに印刻される. 成虫は低地の里山に春から初夏に現れるが, 個体数は少ない. なお, 本種は甲虫界に多大の貢献をされた故佐藤正孝博士に献名して追悼の記念とした.
