Dear ACPS Students,
We are excited to provide you with the Program of Studies for the 2014-15 school year. The selection of courses
available through this Program of Studies is expansive. A multitude of pathways will prepare you for your dreams
of college, career and life success.
Middle and high school offer you the basis for post-secondary school success, as well as opportunities to learn
and try new things. Use this time to explore options and find your interests and passions. The ACPS family is
committed to ensuring that upon high school graduation you will have the tools to succeed through the ability to
1) read complex text, 2) write for post-secondary success, 3) analyze and interpret data, 4) participate in discourse
within the disciplines, and 5) speak and listen with success. This is an important journey. We know you can do it
and we are here to help you. This is our commitment to you.
We encourage you to set high goals for yourself and challenge yourself as you select courses. ACPS offers an
amazing array of academic, career and technical courses to support you in reaching your goals. Invite your parents
or guardians and counselor to sit with you while you share your goals. Discuss with them courses that will help you
to achieve your goals.
Be sure to take advantage of the College and Career Center and your school counselor with your questions about
the requirements for a future course of study or career.
