Endorsement of major 2016-18 Strategic Information Technology Plan objectives: a) Civic Engagement b) Workforce Empowerment c) Data Focused d) IT Mobility e) Effective Digital Systems 2. Prioritization of Investment Criteria for projects in 2017/18 budget: SAC provided their judgement on how investment criteria should be prioritized. You compared criteria in pairs against one another which helped determine the relative weight of importance of each. SAC prioritization was then applied to help with project selection for 2017-18 biennium budget. AT THE MEETING King County Information Technology (KCIT) IT Governance Manager, Zlata Kauzlaric, will provide a 5-minute summary recap of March 2016 meeting. Page 2 of 38 3/17/2017 SAC Meeting Overview Information Technology Governance Strategic Progress to date on Technology Plan 2016-18 SAC endorsed the major IT Objectives for the strategic information technology plan (SITP) 2016-18 in March 2016, and reviewed the draft plan. Following the SAC endorsement the Plan was transmitted to King County Council adoption in June 2016. In September 2016, the Council adopted the Plan with an amendment to revise and expand the Plan on performance measures, by April 2017. The motion is included in Appendix A1. Since then, the countywide agencies participated in building the inventory of applications (in 2015) and collecting the data needed for a deeper insight OVERVIEW and analysis of the state of their applications (in 2016). The County Chief Information officer, Bill Kehoe, will discuss issues, solutions, benefits of Application Portfolio Modernization and progress to date: • Portfolio Overview • Progress to Date AT THE MEETING 30 minutes is allocated for this topic to include the briefing and discussion. If we can leverage a vast amount of data we have in the County, we will be able to significantly improve our services to residents and internally, including day to day operations and decision making on all levels of the County’s government. Page 6 of 38 3/17/2017 SAC Meeting Overview Information Technology Governance 1 – Recap of 2016 Meeting: Reference Materials Below is a brief description of decisions SAC enacted at their March 2016 meeting. 1 – Endorsed Strategic Information Technology Plan Major Objectives SAC endorsed five major strategic objectives for 2016-18 Strategic Information Technology Plan (SITP): • Civic Engagement • Workforce Empowerment • Data Focused • IT Mobility • Effective Digital Systems. Following the SAC endorsement, the draft SITP that was provided to SAC as pre-meeting material, was finalized and transmitted to King County Council in June 2016 for their adoption. King County Council adopted the Plan in September 2016. Below, in Figure 1, is a brief description of each objective, and resulting benefits for each of the objectives. Figure 2 shows how each of these IT objectives support the goals of the County.
