surveysresultsintheundeniable
conclusionthatmajorrenovationof
thisfacilityisnecessaryifthe
buildingistocontinuetobeusedas
itistoday,andpreservedforfuture

Background
ConstructionoftheoriginalCapitol
wasbegunin 1899,andwhatis
todaythecenterportionofthe
buildingwasdedicatedforuseon
July4, 1902. Between 1909and

oftheoriginalconstruction.
